I have an LG Optimus phone and it has stopped recognizing any of my SD cards. It keeps telling that there is no card and to insert a new one. Yet all the card work fine in my old phone and computer. Does anyone have any idea why the phone isnt aknowledging the cards?

I was told never to use alcohol on electronics because it is an acid and can corode. As for the brand of cards most are Sandisk and a couple are Kodac. But all of them work in my old phone and on my laptop.
And as for the model of the LG, its an andriod. I didnt even know that theres a windows version.

In that case if you have root just boot into your recovery (clockwork or tm) and fix permissions.

Alcohol won't really hurt electronics...just disinfects them. Alternatively, if you prefer you can use windex. If item is very dirty or unknown source I always use alcohol, but if a repair on something Iam familiar with...windex.
I wld try opening up the phone and checking the SD card "carriage"; the part that holds the SD card. In the past it is the "carriage" that is mangled, especially if the phone took a hard spill or knock.

if you go to settings + storage does it show the card still mounted? look for an option to unmount the memory
choose it. it doesn't matter if the sdcard is in or not
if that doesn't work for you then take the memory to a PC and see if you can access it. is there anything important on it? if not, reformat it. change the partition type to insure erasure
then on the pc, copy a file larger than 2048 to it. remove it and then put it back in. see if it is still there

Is your old phone capable of using the kind of sd card you put in?
There are different kinds of sd cards.
Find out more at this web site:
https://www.sdcard.org/consumers/compatibility/
Maybe you have to reformat the file system on your sd card?
You can do that normally on a phone itself, but maybe doing this via a computer is a better option. Take care to format your sd card to the right file system. Normally there is no difference between formatting for phones based on ms dos or unix operating systems. Only thing is that unix based operating systems can use alot more file systems than the msdos can.
Nevertheless you have to take care of what you do concerning reformatting your sd card. Read more on the above given website.

This just happens sometimes. My last phone a Samsung brightside would not read any of the cards I had. It would not recognize them at all. So I had to get it a new one. the new phone I got recognized the old card and it was a breeze. I didn't have to copy anything from old card to new card.
It just happens. The cards are slightly different sometimes.
