1. remove the anonymity of flaggers.
2. include a message box in which the flagger describes the reason for the flag.
3. the person who is flagged receives a message or email with the account of the person who flagged you, and the reason for the flag.
4. add an option to remove the flag for the flagger, and give 3 business days for the two people to take care of the problem before handing it over to customer service.

Sincetta ~~ This is a forum to make suggestions for "improvements" to DH -- not a forum to instigate 'flaming threads' and cause problems on the site.
DH has already decided the issues of flagging/suspension/deletions when designing this site -- sorry you missed the brainstorming sessions.

this isn't meant to instigate flaming threads and cause problems for the site.
the main problem with flags is that they are anonymous, and the majority of those who flag are the ones doing the bullying.
people who flag righteously, do it without shame; without necessity of anonymity.

also, if this is implemented, since all flags would be taken care of by the users themselves within private messages, it would remove the problem people are having with flags inside of the forum. People would take care of it privately. You could even implement "taking conversation on someone's flag to the forums" as justification for another flag. If it is not taken care of within the private messages and not revoked, the flag and conversation regarding it will be taken to customer service after 3 or so days.
I personally believe this would improve the quality of the forums, and people would not misuse the tool this way. I think people would prefer it if they could take care of it privately before customer service ever got involved.
There are WAY too many people on the site who get deleted without even knowing why.
Do you think they would continue making the same mistake if they at least knew WHY they got deleted?

probably not, but i think it would be good for the site to at least email people why they got suspended or deleted so that they do not continue making the same mistakes.

It should be Obvious to the Admin 'Why something is being Flagged'.....
But...
'WE' would like them to ACT on the more _Obvious_ ones...!!!

I could see 1-3 happening. Not to sure 4 is a good idea.
