Does everyone here get a ton of messages from fake profiles? What is wrong with these people that are trying to scam you? They dont even have a grasp of the language. They obiously are using a translator ap and copy and pasting to their messages.
I must report and delete at least 2 or 3 a day.
Anybody else getting these?

They are constant and on every dating site I have seen. Scamming Americans is a billion dollar industry in countries like Nigeria. Just be careful out there. They are not hard to spot if you look.

If you change you're status to "in a relationship" it will cut back on them.
People still view you, but cut's back some.

I posted a similar thread about all the fake ladies profiles that I get from out of state. I think some of it must be computer generated fakes. and Some of it is scams.
Ask them to send you something you know that they won't as a joke or just spam it.

Scammers know and are playing you with the respect the average American has for our service members. We take an oath, go overseas away from family, protect you. You want to show your support.
They don't get paid much. But there are programs out there to support them. If you want to support YOUR military, the USO and American Red Cross are two legitimate organizations. Thank you for wanting to help, but choose wisely.
Part-time Soldier.

Actually, if you wanted to do crank calls, it would be simple... Net10 or tracphone free phones with triple minutes for fixed phone. They don't know whose name the phone is in. .. TV cops call it a burner phone.

This dating site is the absolute worst for fake profiles and scams. I get over 10 fakes a day and I haven't gotten many legit ones as of yet! Unbelievable. I think that everyone should scan in a copy of their license as proof of who they are and where they live. It would cut out the scamming big time. Stupid foreigners. They say they are millionaires, military, wearing noncommissioned clothes and they say they are officers LOL! Then they don't even give the name in the profile. They have you email them at another name and then in the email they sign yet another name! WOW! I get so tired of flagging profiles.

It's hard enough to meet up with somebody 50 miles away much less to be 1,000 miles apart.

i read some place that military men are not allowed to have public profiles - i can also tell you ladies that there are certain "JOB TITLES" that these guys abuse as well. Make sure you ask your guy a lot of specific questions about his job (notice he will dance around the replies). POPPED! I have to be careful of what i post as i need to be able to still spot them without them learning new ways to screw us financially ;p

I am also getting a ton of contacts from men who are fake, can't speak the language, instantly are in love with me, never been to the US much less Arkansas, and eventually ask for money. I ask them for proof they are citizens or live in the states. I had one actually send me a copy of Elvis Presley 's social security card with his name cut and pasted on it but Elvis' signature. I live an hour from Memphis. How dumb is that??? Are there any REAL Southern men out there????

Datehookup has the highest amount of fake profiles than any other dating site. I'm not sure why, but it does. The best thing any of you can do is to post the names of the fake profiles you come in contact with, their introduction in their first email, and anything that made you suspicious it was a fake profile. Share this information and let other people be more informed so that the profiles may be deleted right away. Eventually they will tire of trying to scam smart informed women.
Fake intros women get are often beefed up "my how lovely you are, your grace caught my eye" stupid red flaggy kind of stuff. Men might get, "You are so handsome like a ray of sunshine and got brought us together, I know we are meant to be, contact me on my phone, email (whatever)" view my web cam, give me your email/text kind of responses.
Often time there are lots of red flags and indiscrepancies in their profile versus what they say. The biggest red flag is their inability to answer questions, understand your questions, ignore your questions or to make sense. Pictures might not match who they are either. These are things you learn from experience, lots of experience. Pay attention to the patterns of writing in the email and make notes. You'll start to see the patterns of behavior which are not normal or consistent with a real person who isn't crazy or mentally ill.
I have met some decent guys, but this date site is a magnet for fakes, and I'm not sure why.

The free sites GET fakes because they are free.
Match and other sites you have to pay. But even those have fakes or computer generated profiles. Adult friend finder was the worse when I looked at it years ago.
Everyone else has moved to IM on Facebook.
And, guys get plenty of spam on the sites too.

ArkiGirl is absolutely right. I don't even look at a profile if they aren't within 30 miles of Jax or downtown LR.
