This is a man I've known for many years but haven't seen in years. Went to lunch one time and after that lunch date I told him I just wanted to remain friends and he was fine with it. These are my reasons why. He has on his FB he just started a relationship with a chick a few weeks ago. When we met he said they had been dating almost a month and he already knew she wasn't his type but yet they are still dating and she is active on his FB. He has multiple women on his FB still that he has dated but remained friends with. I can scroll back and find that about by past comments.

This is what I found about him on our lunch 'date' - he said he had gotten 4 DUI's in less than 4 years. He served a year in jail and got out last September. He has no car right now because his is in the shop, his shop, he's a mechanic by day and also works on his car in his spare time at home. He said his ex-wife is not allowing him to be around his son and he sees him one afternoon per week and that just started. But in the past his ex-wife took out a 50-B on him when he did nothing to her and she was the one who had been cheating on him while married. Makes no sense. When we went to lunch I had to pick him up at work and go eat. I realize his coworkers saw me that day but that still doesn't mean he isn't screwing around on his girlfriend. This man is over 40 years old btw, way too old to be playing the games in life that he plays.

During our lunch date he never asked me one single thing about myself, in fact never has. We were texting daily for a while and I cut that off. I ignored him one day and he got the hint. We are still friends on FB but I definitely know I don't want to date him.

So ladies? Is this man a player? Did I dodge a bullet? He seemed so nice and then we had that lunch date and I found out all that stuff. Plus he never once asked me about my life. But he insists on saying I'm beautiful and blah blah in all of his texts and messages. I'm actually proud of myself I didn't fall for yet another one. I have dated so many bad apples the last few years that this one was obvious to me and I nipped it in the bud early on.

Oh, you poor dear girl --- you must be just traumatized by your experiences.

Do you think he is still stalking you?

I will only speak to one thing, the DUIs. If he had 4 in less than 4 years he has a serious alcohol problem. So if he is not in an active AA or similar type program, attending at least 5 times a week, then he is well, "not with the program" and a huge risk for you to date.

Than why do you need our advice?

Pull up your big girl pants and have the sense to see the red flags that fly in front of your face. You don't need advice from people on a dating site. You seemed to work this out on your own.

I think he is the tree that dropes bad apples for everyone. He is only allowed to see his kid once a week. I wonder what he did while he was drunk besides the Dui? I'm single and yea I'm waiting for the right woman and its lonely but I wont waste time nor get myself hurt in any kind of way just for LUST. Please listen to us. Even watch a few episodes of COPS on Tv about alcoholics. I'm not try to be a a** but just being a frien this is him and thenthis is the both of you then this could be you later on wondering what happened.

Wow.... I'm not a lady but hell no I would never date someone like that especially with all that BS and drama hun. I dated a woman that went through the exact samething thing as you and only caused problems for everyone and herself and her past. Why would you even think of dating a man like that when there is so much better that you deserve right now on front of you

No, I would not even consider dating this man, or any others like him. Besides all the other red flag items you listed, please re-read your first paragraph. I'm all for remaining friends with former dates, but if he's still actively dating a woman he already knows isn't his type, then he isn't serious about dating you. He's simply keeping her around until he find something better.

I think you might have answered your own question. Why would you even ask that if you didn't already question it yourself?

You know that little voice in your head that warns you about things? The one that whispers "something's not right"? Listen to it - it's usually right.
