I have decided to get back to my roots of simply meeting people face to face. There isn't anything wrong with looking for that special someone online, I have made some friends for life right here from this site. I want to change things up a bit and focus on other things that is right in front of me other than the internet. It isn't just online dating that I'm taking a break from, but also facebook and all other social media. A friend of mine made the pledge to stop using social media for a month and she recently told me she is very satisfied with all that she has accomplished since then, both physically and mentally. So, why not?
My question before I go is...has anyone else made a personal goal to stop using the internet for anything (other than your basic emails and weather) with a timeframe and how did it make you feel? I appreciate your feedback and wish everyone the very best!

Good luck with that...
I thought about doing this. But in the end I cut my Facebook friends by more than half. I now only have my family, including extended family and closest friends there. Just cutting back there has made it much more enjoyable place to interact with just the people who are important to me.
As far as DH... LOL... I guess that is a different story. I have made my profile invisible because I didnt want all the messages. I just wanted to be able to join in conversations here in the forums. But Utah chat has been such a ghost town.

I otta!
Getting rather jaded at the entire experience.
Things like.....
"Yeah. I am looking for a mate that has everything and will provide for me all the things I am unable to get on my own. (On a first date she tried to get me to buy her jewelry!)
The ambiguous phrase..... "I like to have fun." Now that answered a poop pot full of questions I have about you! What kind of fun? Some think fun is to sit on the back porch/deck with a cup of coffee. While others rather a cruise to Barbados.
Still yet "Send me a message." That one always gets to me. They never reply. (Even from a free site such as this. Most all have some hang up that affects their personality. Even at that they are looking for "Mr./Ms Perfect". Not really understanding the scope of things. First off they are not here because they are perfect. Some are waiting for the proverbial blank chalkboard, that has no hang ups, in the delivery room with a catchers mitt.
I hang in here on the outside chance that there is going to be somebody that really has some sense left in their noggin and understands a few things bout life and themselves. Slim chance I know.
