I worked a small dairy farm once, love horses, goats are kinda cool....have a friend with a small ski resort, summer fun park and the goats graze and keep the place trimmed up lol...I just really love farming...I lived at the farm and it just seemed like I was made for that life...being Native and born and raised that way it comes natural for the most part even though its somewhat different I suppose.

When I had my horses, always had Quarter Horses...foundation bred in their bloodlines like King P234, Hired Hand, Wimpy P1, Old Sorrel...that was one awesome gelding, I did everything on him...the most willing & kind heart. I can't remember my mare's lines but my other gelding was Watch Joe Jack by Two Eyed Jack etc...big stout booger. Now if money was NO object I'd love to have a Friesian and Andalusian...gorgeous fantasy looking horses.
For dogs its been Border Collies all the way...Einsteins of the dog world. I just love em

when I raised goats my favorite breed was the Boer/Kiko, never had a real Kiko to make a comparison. The best miniture breed I had was the Boer/Kiko/Nigeriann Dwarf cross male I got when my 4-5 month old Boer/Kiko male bred a Nigerian Dwarf nanny, the offspring looked like a minature Boer goat with the Kiko horns. The best best breed of Hairsheep I had was the Painted Desert and wool sheep was the Hampshire. Havent been into cattle but am gettingf into it now. I would love to get a weaned Brahman calf to keep the red angus calf i have now. I hate to say that the red angus calf I have now, or at least that what they said she is, has frostbit ears and tail (makes me wonder if they didn't cut off some of her ears (never know with people these days) and I just noticed one of her backtoes is just about ripped off (couldn't see that when we went an got her, too much crap on her toes) I got offtrack here, sorry.

My family raised Galloways. Duns and blacks no belted.
Sold the herd off in July, my Dad was 87 and finally admitted it was getting harder for him. Then he died in Sept. so now the farm will have to go. I feel quite sad about it, but cannot afford to buy out my other siblings. And I live 3 hours away from it even if I could.
Going to be strange not having it to head to for the week ends. Maybe I will buy one further up north when I retire next year, where land is cheaper and run a few head, I am thinking cow /calf operation.
Maybe Highlands, they are well suited for the type of land / climate, where I will probably buy.

I liked the mule that was able to talk. If my memory serves me correctly his name was Francis, but I do not know whatever became of him.

A tongue tie is used so the horse doesn't get
his tongue over the bit.Makes it harder to control
the horse. Some think it helps the horse breath better
which has never been proven.

And a split-bit will make that mares mouth sore and she is apt to rear and buck you balls up into your throat.

Split bit I never used not on a race horse.
Tongue tie prevents the horse from choking by
swallowing his tongue by keeping the tongue
under the bit.
