I've never been out when hes with another girl... Not sure how I will act... Im usually pretty level headed and try not to let my guard down..hed never know but I probably will have some form of jealiousy.

Im more concern that Im reading more into his kindness and his joking with me and wanting to be around....probably...Sometimes I feel alone and maybe I am just hoping...but really hate the ultimate outcome ...no friendship in the end..!

The older they get the less. Get something nice something they need. The younger kids, whatever you can afford to do still something they need. There really isn't a rule or guidelines.

I only have one so I am lucky when it comes to that......this year I have spent less than last year, I guess between $550-600 this year, BUT this year is less than in the past because her bday is in November and she had on her Christmas list a $900 desk top graphics computer that will take her through college. I went ahead and got that for her bday so she could be using it. She is making a little money on her own making websites for businesses, she is very good at it! I also start buying for her and putting away in the summer. I work on commission only so I have to do that because the winter months are my lean time. I don't know how y'all do it with several kids

I was a stay at home mom for most of the marriage and for the older two children as they were growing up. Our children did not get a lot of expensive gifts. Our children were taught that it was Jesus's birthday. Yes they got Santa.

Our children had each other. They were taught to cherish each other. (I grew up an only child and very sheltered. My children know they have each other. I grew up wishing I had siblings. I wish it even more now with no one to share in the caring for my mom.)

Children are so very much easier to care for than an elderly person.

I have heard that it is usually just one child that actually takes care of an elderly parent.

^^^^^I was a stay at home Mom too for most of Abby's life till the big D
Back then I could afford to take care of several families at Christmas too and most years even alone now I at least do several children but this year my Mom needed a car so I put the down payment on it for her and my younger sister couldn't make her house payment last month so I did that. I feel like I have done my part of Christmas cheer and I actuslly need a car myself and I don't own a home, but I will again soon!
When I was a stay at home Mom my girl scout troop and I feed the homeless each year a few days before Christmas and collected blankets to give. And up until the big D every year since Abby was 3 years old she and I wouid take 2 shifts each Christmas season to ring the Salvation Arny Bell....we collected a lot of money she wouid sing Christmas carols and folks would shovel out the money! I miss being able to do a lot of that but I do and give where I can when I can.

Why do people have children?
They really aren't as nice to have as led to believe.
You sacrifice your whole life to provide for them. They are rarely thankful for that.Everytime they get hurt you feel their pain.Tget cost a fortune....Kids just suck

Children are the best part of us. I know that mine has taught me more than I have taught him. Skyler has taught me what it really means to love someone unconditionally. I know I would not be the person I am now if not for him. He makes me laugh everyday. I could go on and on, but I think you get the point.

Oh I do understand that part...but sometimes I think people just don't care (or think) and just procreate without any reason to.Then they realize that having a kid traps them into a life of poverty or it just makes it more difficult to get ahead in life.

I totally agree there are those people, but for me, the cost has been well worth it. My only regret is that I can't give him everything, but then again he will understand that you don't have to have everything you want to be happy.

I was talking to a friend the other day and he made the comment that our kids don't realize the sacrifices we make for them. I said, eventually they will if we do it right. I just hope I'm doing it right.

Wow....I can relate to this question...and I love having my kids.....

but I also could say that having kids is not this GREAT thing you are missing out on if you dont have them...

Kids are truly the only unconditional love you experience in your life..All other love has conditions ..but they will challenge every ounce of it too..

Kids are sweet and a treasure until that day when they start gaining their independence and older teenagers and during their early Twenties...They are the most selfish creatures in existence and can down right be hateful hurtful and try to suck every penny out of you...You as a parent worry yourself sick of their choices for the rest of your life....
With me having kids, I will love them and enjoy them fir as all GOOD caring mother will do all we can to give them a life they can look back on and feel they had a good life...

yes they do suck........they suck the life and money out of you.
I am so thankful that my daughter is appreciative and thankful for what she gets and has. Her Dad is in CA and yes I do get child support thank God for that but that is it he does nothing has no responsibility, that is it! The papers say every other weekend, that is so full of shit! I have had no more than 4 days to myself in 4 years.....I could really use sometime for me. My daughter appreciates that I try to be Mom and Dad. In the beginning of the big D I had not worked in 18 years so the first Christmas was very lean but you would have thought I gave her a pot of gold..........I guess she saw how hard i was working and how tight things were and was shocked at her Christmas. I make a big deal out of holidays and her birthday whether I have a lot of money to spend or do it on a shoe string budget I make it fun and exciting.

I didn't mean to give the impression that Skyler got whatever he wanted, he doesn't. But there are times that I wish I could give him more. Last year he wanted a PS3, wasn't able to pull it off, this year he wants the same. But a couple of weeks ago he tells me that I should buy something for myself because he has everything he needs and really doesn't want anything.

Just wait a bit Marvin. The price of beef will go down dramatically from what I gather. Sometime in the Spring. There is a glut on the world market approaching and corn has something to do with it. Everyone's hot beef injections will be less painful to the bank account soon enough...

its a supply and demand thing, about 2 years ago there was a drought lots of farmets and ranchers couldnt grow the feed its price went up, so cattle went to market, beef prices dropped. We are on the other side of that curve now. Not much going to market, but feed prices have improved, and herds are recovering, soon it will swing back in favor of the consumer.

I would love a place where I could garden again and I love to fish and can even clean my own. Haven't hunted in years.

You didnt, I was making a general observation, it seems to me that as parents we tend to think that wants and needs are the same thing, they are not. For example we need a place to sleep and something to eat. We want the latest smartphone.....
I feel a grounding in morals and ethics and spending time with your kids, is more important. A few years ago we did the homemade christmas thing, and it was the best one in recent
years,

Has anyone seen or heard from Kevin? He hasn't been posting for a long time.
