A fourth unbelievable day on the creek bank. Got a text from a neighbor last night warning me of a 13 foot gator in the creek "imagination" I has actually viewed a 10 footer at dark and he was only the 2nd that big I has ever "seen" swimming here in over 55 years. Have had them on lines while participating in the statewide hunt but in the middle of the night using many different things to draw them in!.

Zika everywhere. Thats what my grands holler when they see a misquito. I cant get the city to get on to my neighbors for breeding them in that plastic they have . Every time it rains more and more.
Biggest ones I ever saw were by a lake in Michigan, go figure. Florida girl runs from Misquitoes. I promise they were like little birds.

I can't get it to paste but Firstcoastnews.com has some pictures on DuVal county and also vidio of the beaches. St johns county ST AUGUSTINE got a lot of damage. I amost got scared a bit. I have an old house but it is block with steal windows. I lived here most of my life so I did not want to die in traffic.
I am about 16 miles or so from the beach. I am not in a flood zone and they did not evacuate me. i am glad it did not come in completely. Jacksonville is a bit of a cove like. We were lucky.

I really hate weatherpeople, always crying doom, scaring everyone and every map had this storm doing a u-turn and hitting Florida a second time.
With all the weather data they have gathered and saved you would think that the powers that be could get it right 50% of the time.
I'm happy the storm skirted our state by and that the loss of life wasn't greater.

Friday a week later they still had 15,000 without lights. I think they got most now. That was just in Jax. The beaches are bad. They had a clean up day there today. I had my roof inspected. All shingles poped and many missing. Finally got my yard cleaned up after a week my guys came back to help me.
City has not picked up the waste yet. We were all told to put to the street and a sweeper would get it. Some houses you cant see from all the bushes. I know it is nice to live at the beach but glad I don't live there.
