If it would be possible to get an event set up in the southern region of Ohio, would you attend? Would you be willing to help (help choose a site, with preparations, etc)?
Nothing planned, no promises. Just seeing how much interest there would be in getting a Meet & Greet together.

You had mentioned Serpent Mound. Parking is $8 a car, and if we want the main picnic shelter, it'll cost $40 to rent it. edited to add- it closes at 6 p.m. on the weekends, 4 p.m. on weekdays.
I was also considering Rocky Fork State Park, but I like the Old Man's Cave/ Hocking Hills idea.
I've seen footage of Hocking Hills. Beautiful place. I've never been there and would love to see it.
I've disgusted (oops, I mean discussed) it with my son, I'm going to try to work this around his work schedule. He works a 2-2-3 shift, and will be there if we can set something up.

I remember when I planned to host the event before, that my post like this one had very few votes or comments, but the event thread had a lot of people sign up. 15-18 (I think it was 18 that actually showed up), but we had a great time.
I really wish I'd gotten that one guys name. He was a quiet guy, and so sweet. He left early, but made sure he stopped and thanked me before he left.

Going to breath some life back into this and try again.
If you are interested in an event, please list anywhere that you think would be a good place to hold an event. I understand mileage after the last event, especially. I also realize that Ohio is by no means a small state.
Let's see what we can come up with, before nixing the idea entirely.

Seriously, I haven't totally given up on the idea of an event, I've just sidelined it for now. I have things in my life that I'm trying to get situated right now.

Honest answer and a pretty blunt one....... yes if there was a reasonable chance to meet people that would actually be candidates for a relationship, i.e. women 50+ who have their act together, are not bitter, old or cold, and are reasonably HWP. Not interested in going someplace and sitting in a lawn chair with people drinking themselves to oblivion.
Sorry to be so blunt, but a lot of events I have attended, and yeah, I have gone to a number of POF things, are a waste of time if one's goal is to actually meet appropriate relationship candidates.

Hey ,honesty is good! It does depend on where they are held...when we had a couple at the cleveland metro parks,ALL manner of folks were there,not JUST from this site,but all the folks who visit parks! I was with someone at the time,but I saw some damn good looking wimmins...NOT that I WAS looking,they,uh,they kinda jump out at you!(Ok,I WAS hoping a few in tube tops were gonna "jump out" at me,but,alas!)

Contrary to what was previously said (by someone who I believe had already said they wouldn't attend)- this event idea has not been scrapped. I am a very busy person, and it does take time to plan these things out.
Nobs is the one who has really wanted to see an Ohio event come together. He is also the one who mentioned Serpent Mound- and I'm in agreement. But as he is also busy (and unavailable) at the moment, out of fairness, I refuse to plan an event until a time when he would be able to attend.
My last event was held the latter part of September- the weather was perfect, and it was a wonderful day.
So, if everyone would put their negative attitudes aside, and be helpful with ideas - we might just get another nice event put together.

Great! Nobs has mentioned Serpent Mound several times, but nothing is decided, so we're open to suggestions.
Serpent Mound does charge $8 a car for parking, but it is a nice place. I'm thinking maybe the 2nd weekend of September (subject to change).

I'm still hoping for the 2nd weekend. My son has to check his work schedule, and too, it will depend on whether it would be a good weekend for the other members of the group.
It'll be at Serpent Mound. The parking fee is $8, and the food is potluck.
