Rick Santorum thought he had a lock on a top tier rung in the GOP Presidential nominee games. Instead, he is already a has been. He held an event in Iowa, and only 10 Iowan voters showed up to hear him speak. He went to another event, and only four voters turned up. If that is as well as he can do in Iowa-a state he had a certified caucus victory (#1 position) in back in 2012-he has no hope at all in the nation as a whole. Hell, he won't even be able tot get a spot on the debate stage with performances like these. If he can't be in at least the first two debates, he won't be getting anywhere afterwards. Even The Fraud Known As Trump-whom everyone knows is only running as a joke-will be in the debates, and get closer to the nomination than Santorum can ever hope to do. One by one, The GOP Clown Car is dumping passengers, and Santorum is the first to be evicted.

I don't think he could be a PA senator in VA and his kids were home schooled. He paid prop tax in PA. If it were that big a truth or scandal, he wouldn't be showing his face now. Just more smears.

Good. We need nominees that can win electoral votes in states that are in contention. Rand PauI or Rick Santorum bring nothing to the table that can actually make the difference in winning.

Funny but I cannot recall Obama having a house foreclosed on or running up GOP state issued credit cards over $100,000 mostly on personal expenditures??Blame Romney for digging up most of the dirt on Rubio's less than stellar financial management when he vetted him as a possible running mate..

Sounds like Barney Frank whose house in Ma**holechusetts was being run as a gay brothel.

Then there's the liberal icon, Michael Moore who moved out of his New York condo's and set his address back to Michigan after the success of one of his movies to avoid paying New York income tax.

Republicans don't have the monopoly on lying your a** off with phony addresses and avoiding paying for shit although falcon consistently makes it appear so.

Never knew what he stood for, but for real was never interested.
His name just sounded too much like Sanitorium.

It reminded me of a crazy house or the quarantine hospital my mother was kept at for 10 or more years for tuberculosis. Back in those days there were not antibiotics so they cut one of her lungs out.

The radio host announced on his show Wednesday that he is "done" with the Republican Party.

“I’ve made my decision -- I’m out,” Beck said. "I’m out of the Republican Party. I am not a Republican. I will not give a dime to the Republican Party. I’m out. I highly recommend -- run from the Republican Party. They are not good."

Beck cited the party's handling of the Affordable Care Act and illegal immigration as the reason he is so outraged. He accused Republicans of "torpedoing the Constitution" and said, despite being a supporter four years ago, he is moving on.

"They set us up. Enough is enough," he went on. "So I'm done with them."

Beck's frustration with the GOP is nothing new. In a promo for his web program GBTV in 2011, Beck said of Republicans, "I hate them. I think they are as much of a problem as the other side."

Just last week, the host also threatened to terminate his membership with the National Rifle Association because of one of its board members, who he said is a "very, very bad and dangerous man."

Lloyd Grove at The Daily Beast reported:

In the longer term, these sources said, the Rev. Al Sharpton—a larger-than-life personality who attracts a 35 percent African-American audience but continues, after 3½ years of nightly practice, to wrestle with his Teleprompter—could eventually be moved from his weeknight 6 p.m. slot to a weekend time period, as MNSBC President Phil Griffin attempts to reverse significant viewership slides by accentuating straight news over left-leaning opinion.
“Everybody in the food chain from top to bottom understands that the Olbermann era is over,” said an MSNBC source, referring to the glory days during George W. Bush’s administration when incendiary liberal Keith Olbermann regularly attracted a million viewers—many of them seeking refuge from White House and Republican talking points.
The MSNBC source said, “Going left was a brilliant strategy while it lasted and made hundreds of millions of dollars for Comcast, but now it doesn’t work anymore…The goal is to move away from left-wing TV.”

This move away from liberal hosts would likely mean that Ed Schultz, Al Sharpton, Chris Hayes, and Lawrence O’Donnell will all be gone. Rachel Maddow will move up to 8 PM, and the rest of the night would be a to be determined question mark.

Last year it was reported that the network views Morning Joe, Hardball, and The Rachel Maddow show as their three keepers. Maddow is still beloved by the left, but both Hardball and Morning Joe elicit loud complaints from some sections of the network’s viewership.

The fear is that MSNBC will overreact to their recent rating slide by making a knee jerk move to the right. There is a huge liberal audience that will watch left-leaning programming. The mistake that Phil Griffin made was offering viewers boring liberal programming. Griffin’s cookie cutter strategy of trying make more shows look and sound like Maddow created a redundancy of tone that caused viewers to flee.

The problem with MSNBC wasn’t that they were liberal, but that they treated their audience so badly for so long that viewers didn’t trust the network to keep their favorite hosts, outside of Maddow, on.

It all started to go wrong for MSNBC when Keith Olbermann departed. The MSNBC viewers used to know could be leaving soon. If my suspicions are correct, get ready for the era of Scarborough at the former Lean Forward network.

Standards for Impeachment
The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.

ARTICLE II, SECTION 4

Impeachment is the constitutionally specified means by which an official of the executive or judicial branch may be removed from office for misconduct. There has been considerable controversy about what constitutes an impeachable offense. At the Constitutional Convention, the delegates early on voted for "mal-practice and neglect of duty" as grounds for impeachment, but the Committee of Detail narrowed the basis to treason, bribery, and corruption, then deleting the last point. George Mason, who wanted the grounds much broader and similar to the earlier formulation, suggested "maladministration," but James Madison pointed out that this would destroy the President's independence and make him dependent on the Senate. Mason then suggested "high Crimes and Misdemeanors," which the Convention accepted.

Because "high Crimes and Misdemeanors" was a term of art used in English impeachments, a plausible reading supported by many scholars is that the grounds for impeachment can be not only the defined crimes of treason and bribery, but also other criminal or even noncriminal behavior amounting to a serious dereliction of duty.

http://www.heritage.org/constitution/#!/articles/2/essays/100/standards-for-impeachment

Some peoples standards may be higher than others but since public officials first order of business is to swear to uphold and defend the US Constitution, I personally don't need to look any further into the topic of who should be/have been impeached.

Since both society and politics uses it as the standard for our Republic, if our officials cherry pick which parts are the really serious parts and those pieces of the Constitution that are not to be interpreted literally, why would anyone expect it to work at all?

I might remind you that Democrats made a serious effort to impeach GW Bush with no success. Would you consider the DNC to have any better a grasp on impeachment?

I have neither denied, or stopped denying. I am commenting on the stupidity, cowardice, and dishonesty, of The GOP. Even if all they ever said against Obama were proven true this minute, NONE of them would act on it by trying to impeach him...because to do so would cost them mucho Congressional seats in the next election. They know that, and so do not act, and so put the good of themselves ahead of the good of the country. They are, therefore, no better than Obama is at his worst. The fact remains that it is too late to do anything about Obama, and if the GOP Clowns keep running against Obama-who is no longer running-they will lose BIG.

There were no serious attempts to impeach Bush.

Democrats in Congress did not promise their constituents-every other week-that they would impeach Bush. The Repubtards did make such frequent promises to their mindless morons.

Ah huh..........Well I guess that would depend on your definition of "serious attempt" wouldn't it?

Jackson Lee, it turns out, is an imperfect vehicle for making this charge. Here’s the problem: A dozen House Democrats in 2008 did introduce a resolution seeking the impeachment of Bush. And Jackson Lee was one of the measure’s 11 co-sponsors.

The measure in question was H. Res. 1258, introduced by then-Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, on June 10, 2008. The resolution -- a 167-page laundry list of criticisms -- accused Bush of "high crimes and misdemeanors," citing numerous "abuses of power" related to his prosecution of the war in Iraq and the fight against global terrorism, among other topics.

Our ruling

Jackson Lee said, "We did not seek an impeachment of President Bush." She has a point that neither the House nor a majority of the Democratic caucus sought Bush’s impeachment. However, a dozen Democratic lawmakers did -- including Jackson Lee herself. It seems hypocritical of the congresswoman to seize the moral high ground -- essentially saying that her party gallantly went against self-interest by declining to seek Bush’s impeachment -- when in fact she personally had sought precisely that outcome. On balance, we rate the claim Mostly False.

"If Jackson Lee means to define "we" as the Democratic caucus as a whole, she has a point. The resolution never gained wide support among the Democrats, even though they controlled Congress at the time. The bill died quietly in committee."

Like I said, no serious attempt. We're quibbling about definitions at this point, but I'll give you credit, a lot of Republicans would instead of just disagreeing and making their point, would have shit their pants and talked about c*cksucking by now.

In order to be a "high crime" a thing has to first be "a crime." Dereliction of Duty is not a crime in Civilian Life. Get over it. A "misdemeanor" is a low crime. "High crimes and misdemeanors" thus requires that a crime be involved. The ONLY opinion of such matters which really counts is that of The Chief Justice Of The US Supreme Court who would be presiding over the impeachment of a President Of The United States. Fail to prove that a crime occurred in such an impeachment, AND / OR fail to prove the POTUS committed it, and The CJ will acquit the POTUS over any, and all, objections from The Peanut Gallery.
