Every sports fan has had lean times. Yours?
Other than three years, Army has sucked since I was a kid. Viet Nam and big-money pro football will do that.
As far as the Giants are concerned, some of my earliest baby pics are of me and my dad watching them on a blanket in East Hanover, circa 1971 (Tarkenton's last year in NY).
I survived the 70's, with Sunday school being my first documented use of the "F-word" (there was this Cowboy fan who just wouldn't stfu). I don't turn all Yankee-fan when the G-men blow one; it wasn't all that long ago when I wondered if they'd ever win ONE Super Bowl. I even got to hear the Giants' radio feed on guard duty in '91. I'm satisfied, although I still want to slit Dan Reeves' throat.
The Rangers won in '94; I'd love another Cup...
Saw the Dodgers win two World Series (81 & 88). I'd love another, but I can't complain.

Was a season ticket holder since the Jags started. Gave them up when hubsand died.
Now I enjoy watching grands play. Oldest girl 2 time state champ in basketball. One more
yr. of highschool and trying to decide which offer to take.
Middle girl just started volleyball and grandson hoping to play jr high basketball.
Baby girl is only 2. I have more fun watching them than any Pro team but I still pull for my Jags.
I do go for the Giants sometimes. . Jacksonville loves the coach!

So conflicted last night with Dallas/Philly. Cowboys winning would have given the Giants a tiny bit of breathing room... but to root for Dallas?! Extremely difficult for me under any circumstances.

I'm not gonna lie, Eli Manning has given me some great days. But Phil Simms ("Phil Who?" when he was drafted) will probably always be the man.
I know the days of Army winning a national championship are long gone and not coming back. I just want respectability, like Navy and Chair Force.

Seriously? ! A ten-point lead with four minutes left...poof! Gone! Then shit the bed in overtime?! This "get a lead and crawl into a shell" bullshit has got to stop. Parcells was the last Giants coach to have the kind of shut-down defense (LT, Harry Carson, George Martin, etc...) you need to do that, and he NEVER took his foot off the gas. The G-men were stuffing it down yer throat until the final whistle. I appreciate Tom Coughlin and all he's done... but I DEMAND smashmouth football.

Giants are dead-f**kin'-last in total defense...absolutely unacceptable. Dead-last or close to it in total offense wouldn't matter to me. It's a matter of tradition; the Big Blue Wrecking Crew should be top-five at all times. Even in the late-70's, they had a decent squad that only ran out of gas in the fourth quarter because the f**kin' offense couldn't put a drive together; by the time the fourth quarter rolled around they were gassed. I demand that something be done about this. I feel f**kin' violated this bothers me so much. The lack of an effective rushing attack bothers me as well. When they won it all in 2011, they had their worst rushing offense since 1945 (!?). I'm so Goddamned angry about this team, I don't know whether to shit or wind my watch...

I tried to watch the 500 today. My heart's just not in it since Chrysler left NASCAR (again). Haven't watched a race since July 2013. Hard to root for Chevy, Ford, or the Japs. Maybe I'll get lucky and the Germans will get into it.

I am so sad in some ways . I have gone to as many of my granddaughters highschool basketball games as I could but it is over now. She finished with her third state championship which is unreal but I have a sence of loss. She will be playing for F.I U. in Miami but how often can I get there?
I do have a granddaught playing some volleyball and a granddson starting hs next year playing basketball. It will be great for them to shine a bit.
Hope I can go. Need to find someone who likes to go to these things.

Basketball not over for her yet.
Playing April 1st in NY ESPNU at 1pm. chanel 744 here. Then when they win. April 2nd ESPN2 right below ESPN at Madison square garden !!!! 10am. #3 Ribault.
They just moved up a divison this year and now they made national ranking. Little inner city school.

Just went to the pep rally tonight! They are the #1 womens high school team in the state and the #15 in the nation!
Some ALum from the the florida house and senate came and talked but not our mayor. Ha. We got 1 min on the tv news. Its sad this old school is the most winning ladies bb team in the state (11)state championships 3 in the last 4 years.
It only took me 4 yrs to get them to update the BATHROOMS in the Gym for the handicap and older women. They should be finished this summer Just after her graduation.
We had a good time . I haven't herd a band in a Gym in years. I kept waiting for them to play the Hawaii 5-0 song. It didn't happen.
5 girls players on the 3pt lines and 5 boys on the other end . They had to make 5 shots and go to the middle of the court to make one . The girls won.! They are excited to go to N.Y. Thurs. Hope I can figure how to progam this dvr to make a copy.
Wish I had time energy and money to go to N.Y.

I think our Jags did great! Still hard to lose by 3 inches. They played their hearts out. Was not even expected to get so close. Hard first game.

But one of our starters woke up that morning and was rushed to the hospital. Still havent herd the scoop on that
