I mean this is just like the women's movement...they wanted 40 years of men understanding them better....yet no effects were made to understand men better. Formula's like this never work out or improve a situation....but only makes them worse. Why? because 100/0 never works out. anyway I've been thru much more than the typical modern black all the while, expected to maintain a certain level of contribution to all, and level of excellence....so it really doesn't matter to me what anyone else no matter the color has been thru or what it like to be them....I've been to hell and back and all the trenches along the way....without any freebies or excuses. So a black might say, they made fun of me in school because I'm black. All the while a white kid with red hair got made fun of too. So did the fat white girl with the glasses. So did that tall skinny white kid, that looks like a rail. On and on....but only the black one complained so much, and tried to sue the school, and used this a scape goat to not try as hard, or work as hard. This not saying this is always the case....but it happens....and too much Geez...I'm been thru this too in school or life, experienced unfairness, injustice, enough of racism from blacks, discrimination and all the rest. I spent 9 days with a fantastic black woman and not even one time did we look at each other and say "omg, your skin is different than mine." or anything of the ilk. Had a great time together. Here in the US however, that is not the case. Blacks show little interest in assimilation here. There's numerous causes, and segregation was the biggest one. But with legal segregation ended, there seems to be little interest being generated in the black community to join the rest of America. I have met many blacks not like that, but I am not talking about individuals. I am talking the community at large. As long as blacks in the US identify themselves as black first and American last, there will continue to be issues.

If you were a black raised in a military environment, and spent most of your life overseas, you tend not to see differences in other Americans. If you're an American kid, then you play with other American kids, regardless of their ethnicity. Over there, there's the Americans, and "them". There are no differences. Asking this question is like asking "What does it mean to be human?".
