I don't like plate racing.. It keeps the pack too close together & in tight quarters, when something goes wrong, you get the "Big One"..
I agree and the "Big One" isn't racing  .. That's a Demolition Derby and worthless to True Racing Fans.

good to hear that plate racing is not a good race there has to be a better way for a safer race and keep the speeds under control it seems the big one is pretty much going to happen not safe for fans drivers or anyone connected with the sport, if the big one is what you go to these plate races for go to demo derby.

I M H O ............if y'all want to avoid the big one ..........shrink the motor size, remove the rear spoiler and front air damm, raise the ride hights and loose the areo package, then run 7" tires.....that should bring the speeds down to about 125 mph...
the down side is no one will care to watch and cry its boring

The big one is pretty safe for the drivers and the people that come for the crashes are happy but the fans that that get wacked by the crap and parts that go shooting the fence are not so sure they have great seats. It's just my opinion but I lived across the street from pocono raceway since 1988 went to one race and now the tv works just fine for me, happy trails.

one year while in Daytona for speed weeks , i was at new Smyrna with a bunch of friends. we were sitting low in the stands ,and for some unknown reason we decided to move up to the top row and over a few feet....a couple of tour modifieds got together and one climbed the fence and hit a light pole . the car and pole landed right where we had moved from....i never ever sit low any more
