I'm not catholic and I've never paid much attention to popes, other than to notice that they have the ear of heads of state.
For some reason I've been interested in keeping up with pope Francis. Seems he doesn't seek to influence the political/social climate, rather he is influenced by it. He seems to go along with the current trend.
