The Lake of Fire and the idea of a second death of eternal damnation is an Egyptian myth to instill fear into the subjects so that they would follow the rules.
That is not true. Resurrection is clearly taught in the New Testament. One wants to be sure that they take part in the first resurrection, though.
As for the catholic and then evangelical protestant teachings of hell fire, I do believe that they are doctrines of devils, and as you say, to instill fear
The idea of the soul being immortal is pagan in it's origins and is also, as you say, to instill fear.
But initial fear of God is not a bad thing. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
Sometime, read Psalms chapter 1
But it is the love of God that leads us to turn from going the wrong way.

I suppose it is fair enough to place the responsibility of man's inhumanity to man on God,... for He has given us free will to do good, or evil.
But I would not go so far as to say that genocide is divinely ordered.
God did not order Hitler, or Stalin to murder millions of people.
Humans die, and I suppose that is good. My skin crawls when I think of a, everlasting Hitler or Stalin
Though we wait so very long for wrongs to be righted, that day is coming. The curtain will drop on this world, and the Author will walk on stage.
Is the Bible the inerrant word of God? If it is, then God ordered genocide.

No, it's not. The idea that the bible is the inerrant word of God is an assertion of men.

resurrection is also an egyptian thing. in the afterlife. Anubis weighs the heart of the dead. those who pass the rules of maat(justice) ascend to Heaven.
The "first" resurrection is a relative term. if you're speaking of Jesus, I understand. but the concept was around before then.

A great many people are adverse and aghast at the prevalent Christian teaching of Hell. Humans suffer so much in life, and are we to believe that on top of that there is a god that will burn people in hell forever?
First of all we have to see that the belief in the immortality of the human soul, is of pagan origin. And from this error springs the many doctrines of what hell is,... the worst being propounded from devilish pulpits is the endless torment of the wicked in everlasting flames. How could a loving, just, and compassionate God do such a thing, we ask.
But is it true? Do humans naturally possess immortality? What does the scripture say? Here's a pretty clear one that indicates humans do NOT posses an immaterial spirit:
1 TIMOTHY Chapter 6
"The King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, and whom no human being has seen or can see."

And we are creatures. That is so central to keep in mind. Too many Christians (especially evangelical) have bought hook, line and sinker the pagan dogma of the immortality of the soul. That got swept into the early catholic church because it was a part of Roman philosophy and superstition.
And, with that out of necessity came the question of what then happens to immortal souls? A false dogma of "hell" had to be invented. Protestantism rejected the catholic idea of purgatory, but adopted the false dogmas of "hell."
The worst of which is this ghastly teaching of eternal flames/ eternal torment, which makes God out to be a monster. And they pick and choose those few verses that appear to support that, but don't.

The same thing happens with the quran . The message is very simple , adding a billion pages , makes it confusing , and easier to manipulate .
"Love thy neighbor" , nothing could be simpler .
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" , no shades of grey here .
If we cant figure it out , using these two simple phrases , then we really are hopeless .

Agreed.
Though it can be so difficult, that golden rule, somehow--if we're open to it, we even--after a time--find we can forgive. And forgive the most monstrous, painful things people do.
I take seriously Jesus words that if I do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will God forgive me. And I do so need that forgiveness.

Here’s the list of 24 Bible passages that disprove there is a place of eternal torment:
Psalm 1:6 “But the way of the ungodly shall perish”
Psalm 37:20 “But the wicked shall perish… they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.”
Psalm 69:28 says that the wicked are “blotted out of the book of the living.”
Ps. 34:16, 21 “evil brings death to the wicked.”
Psalm 92:7 “… shall be destroyed forever.”
Prov. 24:20 “the lamp of the wicked will be snuffed out.”
Dan. 2:35 “the wind swept them away without leaving a trace.”
Isa. 1:28, 30–31 “rebels and sinners shall be destroyed together, and those who forsake the Lord shall be consumed.”
Obadiah 1:16 It will be as if the evil “had never been.“
Mal 4:1 “All the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble, and the day that is coming will set them on fire,” says the LORD Almighty. “Not a root or a branch will be left to them.”
Matthew 10:28 “Rather, fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
Here Jesus himself teaches against hell– saying that those who are lost experience the death of their soul. If one believes in eternal conscious hell, they believe Jesus was wrong on this point, and that souls don’t die at all, but will live forever in hell.
John 3:16 “…whosoever believeth in him should not perish”
Matthew 7:13: “broad is the road that leads to destruction“
Jesus on a variety of occasions uses the metaphor of fire that consumes not tortures: Matt. 7:19; 13:40; John 15:6
Philippians 3:19 “whose end is destruction…“
2 Thessalonians 1:9 “who shall be punished with everlasting destruction …”
1 Cor 3:17: “God will destroy that person”
2 Cor 2:15-16: “those that perish“
Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death..“
Hebrews 10:39 “But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.”
James 4:12a “There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy.”
2 Peter 2:3: “Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.”
Revelation 20:14 “This is the second death…”
Those who believe in eternal conscious hell don’t believe in the second death– they believe everyone is immortal, and that some will live forever in hell. Rev 20:14 is clear that they die– they don’t live forever in hell at all.

Wow , thats a lot to take in . Maybe there's a simpler way , that doesn't involve chestnuts roasting on an open fire .
