How can you f**k up so bad dude? Look at them, all ''normal'' looking
people and now savages executing people in public hanging from the
bridges...
I remember when the revolution happened, we, in America had no knowledge of Islam,
We backed the Shah, who was trying to eliminate it.
We got news he had secret armies who were killing the opposition, not realizing that's what has to be done in a muslim country, even today.
We had this strange thought the country could return to a normal country, boy were we wrong.

Most Americans think of religion as promoting love, peace, and forgiveness, because Christianity does. So when a quote "religious leader" took over Iran after the shah was deposed some naive Americans rejoiced, even some Christian Americans.
Thanks to the ecumenical movement many people think one religion is pretty well just as good as another, that all religions preach love and peace. The Muslim religion, most Americans are beginning (finally) to recognize, does not preach love and forgiveness.
I doubt I will vote for Donald Trump in the Florida Republican primary next month but I do agree with him that immigration from Muslim countries should be banned.

The Iranians who fled to America during the revolution are normal Americans. Someone of the woman are very beautiful. We have Iranian tennis stars like Andre Agassi and so many others who are great Americans.
Despite the government, Many Iranians in Iran are very much like Americans with women wearing make up, wearing sexy clothes, and just being party animals. They just can't go outside.
They live in a dictatorship but behind closed doors do everything that would get them killed if the government finds out. Their government needs to be overthrown. It's just a matter of time.

And time is the critical issue here, and just how much. We know the majority of the population is under 30. I can visualize these people taking over in 30 years, if the place survives. The hardline rulers are the twelvers, who seek to bring in armageddon, and the coming of the 12th Iman. The Shah had no problem with executing Imans, clerics, etc who got out of line. We got the news he was killing religious leaders, and naturally didn't know what the religion was about, so he was the bad guy in our eyes.

One thing about third world countries that Americans should know by now, but apparently don't: these countries have no democratic institutions or traditions. We just can't go invade one of them, hold an election, and elect a president or prime minister who isn't going to either (a) be overthrown by someone who becomes a dictator, or (b) take over as dictator himself. Our best hope is to gave a fairly benevelont dictator that respects religious minorities and does not plot against or invade other countries. The king of Saudi Arabia, the shah of Iran, Saddam Hussein and Moramar Khadaffi after the latter two's military had been destroyed---that's as good as it gets in most third world countries.
We foolishly invaded Iraq, deposed Saddam Hussein, tried to install a democracy, abd ISIS took over. What did we expect?
