Best time of my life. Except for my mom being the bar manager in the beginning. she hired and fired me three times in one night! I still kinda do it till this day but at a golf course now. Now this is a fun job. You definitely have to be a good shit talker to make money at it for sure. My son fusses at me for not going out at night, but hell, I socialize all day, I wanna go home and stay put, lol

Probably the early 80's were the best times. My schedule usually ran from 4pm to closing. Happy Hour 3 for 1 mini bottles. lots of times those mini bottles became tips. I had lots of friends lol. oh and at closing, who wants to go home? on to the after hour bars. In bed usually by 6am or earlier. get back up at 2 or 2:30pm and do it all over again.
*sigh*
better yet, you didn't have to claim your tips!

I had a cot in the back room and some nights just crashed there if I had an early delivery the next day. Sometimes I would let one of my boys use it if he got too wasted.
Sounds like me and your Mom would have gotten along just fine. My kind of woman.

I cared for her for five years. I did nothing but go to work and come home. That last night I had no clue it would be her last. We had to send her to the hospital that morning because she kept getting up and finally fell. Sadly her last words to me were "if you let them take me I will be dead tomorrow" she was almost right, it was that very same night. she had broken her hip in the fall, I had no choice but to send her. My mom fought till the end is all I can say.

I love to go to the Balcony Club here in Big D.
It's in the Balcony of the old Lakewood Theater.
If you remember the old garage band of the 60's- Kenny and the Casuals, they play there every Saturday night, but are known now as the Kenny Daniels band- since their original drummer died a couple of years ago.
But, anyhoo, lots of people my age are there.
I never drink too much since all they sell are high-end beers and drinks for like $6 each.
I'm not sure I can afford to get drunk there!
It's good to be single in there, because the girls always ask me to dance.

I just see these people enjoy it so much even though its a hard course to play. Its a really hilly golf course. I have a 70 year old friend there who shows me up, she's Canadian. that woman can walk that entire course two or three times a week, its 18 holes too.
