Let's talk politics, Mr. Trump is you can stop bashing everyone and everything for a few moments.

As the public knows, Mr. Trump, you have stated that you are skeptical of free trade and that, if you were elected president, you would dismantle NAFTA.

You have stated that, as president, you would institute tariffs on imported and exported products.

You have stated that you would instigate a trade war with Beijing.

You have stated that you, as president, would confront the owner of Ford and force him to stop his multi-zillion dollar manufacturing concern in Mexico and if he didn't you, as president, would levy an import tax on his product of 45% prior to the product being allowed to come into the US market.

You have criticized China and Mexico repeatedly of stealing American jobs when American companies have relocated to foreign countries.

Mr. Trump, I like the suit and tie you are wearing. Are they from your Trump Signature clothing line collection?

Mr. Trump, you don't deny that your Trump Signature clothing is made in foreign countries, do you?

In fact, Mr. Trump, you brag publically that your Made in China ties are a high-dollar seller, isn't that correct?

And your suit, Mr. Trump -- is that a suit or your Trump Signature clothing line which was Made in Mexico -- the same suit product line that Macys pulled from its shelves and refuses to sell any more of your product line for racially slurring a Mexican-American appeals court judge, who is scheduled to preside over a fraud case against you in November this year over the non-defunct Trump University, because you said he was a Mexican and therefore couldn't do his job without prejudice and bias against you?

Mr. Trump, don't you find that you are presenting yourself as a major hypocrite by having manufacturing plants in Mexico making your suits and then wearing them in America while criticizing the ethnic group and country who made them?

And your tie, and the pastel pink ones you wear to dinner in Florida -- there made in China yet you criticize China for stealing American jobs and threaten, if you become president, that you will start a trade war with China.

Very bold 'agendas', Mr. Trump, if you become president.

Now, let's tell the American people what your boisterous talk about trade wars, tariffs dismantling NAFTA will really accomplish.

Since you, Mr. Trump, own and operate businesses outside the United States is appears that even you would be hurt by tariffs being imposed on your own product lines, doesn't it?

But that is not the case, is it Mr. Trump?

If, as president, you instigate a trade war with any foreign country in which you have manufacturing interests the 35%-45% threatened import tariff would actually benefit your revenue base; in other words, add more padding to that Mexican made suit you wear, isn't that correct?

Am I lying, Mr. Trump? The truth of the matter is that I am not lying, but you are, Mr. Trump, and the American people want and desire the truth.

When you, as president, apply a tariff to foreign imports of products it increases the resale value of the product on the open market.

Meaning simply, Mr. Trump, when a 35%-45% tariff is applied in that Made in Mexico suit you are wearing increases in price at the retail level. What costs $150.00 dollars before an implied tariff would increase to $188.00 dollars at retail level. That means, Mr. Trump, thst you (big businessman) would increase your profits, doesn't it?

And what is the downside to all this?

The American consumer pays more and is taxed at a higher sales tax rate!

Know what all this boils down to, Mr. Trump?

The rich fat-cats get richer while the little people (American public) starves to death.

Know what that is an indication of, Mr. Trump?

Communism and Fascism!

Well now, I am certainly not an IRS tax auditor, not an I a tax attorney -- but if you could take a gander if Trump's tax documents that one can access, a vivid picture of big business practice begins to emerge. Add that tax information to what can be discovered about Trump's actual business ventures and, as they say in culinary school, now we're cooking with gas.

1975 --
Income $76,210
Federal Tax $18,714

[today's monetary value would be: $338,923(i)/$83,225(t)]

1976 --
Income $24,594
Federal Tax $10,832

[today: $103,416(i)/$45,548(t)]

1977 --
Income $118,530
Federal Tax $42,386

[today $467,980(i)/$167,348(t)

1978 --
Income $406,379 (claimed as loss)
Federal Tax 0

[today $1,491,268(i) (claimed as loss)/$0(t)]

1979 --
Income $3,443,560 (claimed as loss)
Federal Tax 0

[today $11,348,617(i) (claimed as loss)/0(t)]

Now in Trump's own words: "I work my a** off to pay as little tax as possible."

How does big business get such huge write-offs on federal tax payments?

They start businesses, if they are not showing profitable results in 1 year they sell the property for huge capital gains or allow the business to go belly-up, and then claim full startup as a business loss.

Remember that NYC ice rink Trump renovated in 1980. Trump bid that job at $12+ million dollars, came in under budget, took no salary, and walked away almost a 1 million dollars if NY taxpayer dollars in his pocket.

In 1980 The Grand Hyatt (bought at discount/renovated) opened and Trump immediately sold it back to Hyatt for $140 million dollars

In 1989 those casino failures had been financed with junk bonds -- Trump has relinquished 50% of his stake, then sold 13.25 million shares @ $32.50 each, earning Trump a quick $290 million dollar capital gain

In 1990 Trump was $5 billion dollars in the hole/$1 billion his personal liability

...and on and on

Trump has learned how to game the system, big time. This is what he will do to the American people and our country of he gets elected president.

Trump claims failed business ventures every tax cycle and lays NO federal tax, and walks away scott free with billions of hard-working consumer dollars in his greedy hands every year.

I agree this thread belongs in politics, but cupocheer you don't understand business. In business you compete or go out of business and with NAFTA and GATT you can't competitively afford Americas EPA regulations, or the cost of American Labor. Trump is in essence telling you that he would love to make his products here, but with the current laws he would be out of business. Ross Perot told you that and you didn't listen. Now the jobs are all gone, and Trump is telling you the same thing, you can't have free trade with countries that have no EPA and don't protect or pay their labor. How far does our economy have to crash before you take those blinders off cupocheer? We are pore, our Middle Class is gone, people are homeless or living tow or three families to a home, another home still in danger of repossession, jobs are rare, food lines are overcrowded, how far do we have to fall cupocheer?

Thank you for your post, Erts.

I would question your condemnation of this thread being posted in this forum, however.

Where were the detractors, where were you, when the member who started the biased Republican thread(s) known collectively as "BUMS" garnered in excess of 45,000 posts in this very forum? A thread OP who effectively blocked me from posting the truth in counterpoint fo all the lies which were being propagated? Where were you?

Since these forums have, apparently, see a precedent of open site posting I will continue to avail myself if any forum available to counter lies and falsehoods, regardless of political affiliation.

In regards to the remainder of your post, I will relate a true, and factual response, as is my wont:

Herbert Hoover (R) , the 31st president of the United States, came to office in 1929. Almost immediately the US economy plummeted and this country was submerged in a depression, the likes of which had never been seen before, not, hopefully be seen again.

President Hoover thumbed his nose at the situations which occurring and refused to utilize his power, or that if the federal government he lead, to alleviate this crisis.

He was a callous and insensitive man who 'lived in luxury and assumed a haughty attitude toward the common people.

He could have stopped the decline of suffering in this country but he rejected any effort to do so and left millions of Americans to suffer and die on the streets and I'm the cities of this great nation.

My mother was born in 1930, at the height of the Great Depression. She, and her parents, siblings, and family -- though hard workers all their lives -- were forced to survive an cornmeal mush, which caused severe diarrhea and almost cost my mother her life at two years of age.

Thankfully, in 1933, Franklin Delano Roosevelt (D) was elected to office for four terms as President and he pulled this country out of depression and back into prosperity.

Praise God for a president of leadership, strength, character, and the wisdom go care for America and her people or I wouldn't be here today for anyone to pillory.

Have a great Father's Day.

I agree with you on both counts, these forms have degraded, and the groups that I so enjoyed are all but dead. As for where I was, probably with my X, Miss Hollywood, I miss the person she was, but not the person she became. Anyhow yes I do believe we would be in that depression again if it weren't for social services, and Trump is certainly going to try to get rid of them, which is not good, but Hillary will bring in the loss of a lot more Civil Rights, and will be one more nail in our coffins, if not the final ticket to those FEMA camps. And that is the choices we have, as I certainly don't see any of the good candidates like Jill Stein, in the lime light.

Apple announces it will not support either the Republican or Democratic Party this election cycle.

Shall we look at Apple and Trump, historically?

July 2015 -- Trump presidential disclosure statement (doesn't have to be factual)
Trump disclosed he owns between $2.3 million & $7.8 million dollars in Apple stock.
Financial experts report Trump May own closer to $3 million dollars in Apple stock (we all know how The Donald likes to exaggerate)

Jan 2016 -- The Donald said he sold his Apple stock due to a disagreement with Apple over the screen size of a cell phone (we all know how The Donald likes to exaggerate)

Apple stock soared!

May 2016 -- The Donald called for a boycott on Apple products

Apple stock soared!

Apples current announcement that it would not contribute to either the Republican or Democratic parties ---

Let's watch Apples stock market number, shall we?

If Apple stock soars then you can rest assured that Apple just contributed (illegal contribution? hmmm) to Donald Trump's campaign.

And that's life in big business, folks!

BTW -- Apples announcement follows immediately on the heels of a Trump email sent out Saturday night for immediate contributions to his campaign.

[Classic Trump strategy - FRAUD. Remember those bankruptcies Trump filed in regards to casinos? The lawsuits which eventually led to his ousting as CEO and diminished shares in the business? Where he couldn't come up with the money go pay the taxes?
Did you know that Trump's daddy, Fred, sent his lawyer to buy over $2 million dollars in chips so Trump could meet that tax bond payment? This is highly illegal and charges were levied against Trump for this illegal transaction.]

As Elizabeth Warren stated recently, «Trump is a gift which keeps on giving."

BREAKING, Republicans Unveil Plan To Raise Medicare Eligibility Age For Seniors
ByMarissaPosted on June 23, 2016

Paul Ryan unveiled the Republican party’s replacement plan for the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), which is supposedly a “solution” to the imperfections that exist under the current system. Rather than pass a few sensible amendments, Ryan thinks that we should strip 20 million Americans of their insurance, cut healthcare subsidies for the poor, give the rich a tax break, and raise the Medicare age of eligibility.

Ryan frequently attacks the poor, as we have written about previously, but this assault of senior citizens’ right to healthcare is a new level of appalling. Senior citizens already face many challenges. According to the National Counsel on Aging, more than 25 million senior citizens are economically insecure. They report that, “one-third of senior households has no money left over each month or is in debt after meeting essential expenses.” Almost two-thirds of households headed by a senior citizen are in debt. Senior citizens struggle to keep jobs or find new work in a changing economy.

These shocking statistics apply to all citizens age 60 and older; the Republicans want to raise the Medicare age to 67. Senior citizens face numerous health complications as they age and deserve to be treated with dignity, receiving adequate and professional medical care for all ailments. For the first seven years of their retirement, seniors will be forced to choose between healthcare, or staying out of debt and above the poverty line.

We need healthcare now more than ever; the life expectancy of white Americans has begun to decline. Although life expectancy for non-white Americans is slightly rising, it remains significantly lower than that of white Americans. Our senior citizens deserve to live the longest and healthiest lives possible; Ryan and the Republican party are trying to deny them that right.

Be very careful about "fear mongering".

Senior citizens born BEFORE 1960 would be effected in no way on their Medicare coverage.

OK... Now with being straightened out..

Bottom line: this is just the usual conservative mush.

It would accomplish nothing.

It would insure no one.

It would wipe out all the gains of Obamacare.

Millions of people would have their current health care ripped away from them, all so that Republicans can repeal the 3.8 percent tax on high-earner investment income that funds Obamacare.

And just for good measure, it will also raise the Medicare eligibility age to 67. (gradually)

Because apparently, the old hodgepodge just wasn't quite Scrooge-like enough.

....and that's the rest of the story.....

I don't see that happening.

Trump isn't getting the financial contributions the party needs to mount sufficient campaigns for House and Senate seats.

It really looks bad for the Republicans.

And... Trump isn't going to get elected.

The American voters aren't that ignorant.

I've remained positive that Dems will do well in the next election, but back to my point, if the Republicans are in control for several more years, I believe we will see changes with programs such Medicare and Social Security that we never imagined...no fearmongering, just a strong probability.

IF.....

The Dems are sounding confident that they can retake control of the Senate tis election.

The Republicans are sending alarm signals that they may lose not only the Senate, but since all House seats are up for election/re-election that the Dems will gain those lost seats.

As for Medicare and SS... Regardless... IF the Republicans gain control and push their legislation I still see it failing as it always has.

Even IF it did somehow pass it won't affect seniors born BEFORE 1960.

For those born before 1960...no, it change Social Security. It is a governmental fiduciary responsibility which cannot be changed.

As regards Medicare for recipients, there could, or could not be change.

1) If a Medicare recipient was born before 1960 -- and did not -- switch their insurance to the coverage of the ACA there will be no change.

2) If a Medicare recipient was born before 1960 -- and did -- switch their insurance coverage of the ACA there may well be change. (It was in the fine print of the contract shih was signed when offered the ACA coverage.)

Please, if you say something akin to "yes it can" "no it can't" have the courtesy to explain why you hold that opinion.

TY.
