thekinghasrisen San Diego, CA 33, joined Nov. 2013	My personal issue with him involves his 'Water's World' skit he does, where he goes to colleges and finds the stupidest kids he can find, to ask questions about politics. Basically it's red meat for the 65+ O'Reilly crowd to confirm their deep seated belief that today's kids don't know anything and thus, their politics should neither be trusted or respected. Funny thing is, there are stupid people all over this country, including in their first and second years in college (somebody had to raise these kids after all). At least the ones you find in college have the introspect to be doing something about it at the time - what do you think they're doing in college? Does he pat himself on the a** for finding hungry people in restaurants too? I'm still waiting for the episode where he asks pointed questions to occupants of a trailer park or an interstate truck stop. [Edited 8/22/2016 12:32:28 AM ]

That's because conservatism is a defensive ideology, and it's hard to hold to old thoughts and diatribes when you've been taught to think and discover the context to the truths you cling to. Gays aren't icky, the world may not end if everyone doesn't pray in school, blacks aren't cattle and lives snuffed out by American military power doesn't only count if they're white: all true statements, all hard to have understood back in 1913. Higher learning has an inherently liberal bias for the same reason that pastoral work has an inherently conservative bias. Neither is a conspiracy. Schools teach you "how" to think while church teaches you "what" to think. Simple as that. To that end, conservatives no "what" to think, and liberals know "how" to think.
