It seems to me that hacking and releasing private government information is a two sided practice that could be good or bad for governments and the public interest in general, and that eliminating practitioners of espionage in colourful ways is to security specialists what acquiring and leaking secret information is to spies. From what I gather, Elizabeth Warren was seen as a preferable female candidate for Prez than Hillary by many, given that she doesn't bear the kind of negative baggage that Hillary has accumulated in a long and checquered career. And Bernie's campaign was exciting and a surprise hit for popularising the idea of socialism, which has hitherto long been conflated in the American psyche with communism - an ideology opposed to capitalism and tantamount to Satanist, that if embraced would herald the downfall of civilization as we know it. The US used to have Inquisition like trials for suspected communists in the McCarthy era of the 1950's.

Bernie's Presidential bid ultimately failed, but he kept up his campaign until late in the electoral process so that the positions he fought for may influence and find expression in Hillary's policies. Bernie and Elizabeth are backing Hillary, so in my opinion, Dems in general should do so and vote for the party and policies if not the person. I think Democrat is the only option whether a person is liberal or conservative. Conservative means to conserve that which is desirable and worthwhile - not just to resist change for the sake of it or because wealthy corporations are paying you to resist changes that would hurt them. In the absence of a Republican Party headed by a sensible person, I think the Dems are the de facto conservative choice. One of Hillary's policies is to continue to fight climate change. Trump is on record as restating the popular but long-since debunked conservative urban myth that climate change is a plot by the Chinese to attack the US economy. He says he'll withdraw from the Paris agreement. That single thing alone would be disastrous for the future of the world, given that widespread inaction on climate change could result in millions of deaths this century alone. So, I think that despite Trump's debasing American politics and turning the Presidential race into a "Big Brother" reality TV style popularity contest based on personalities where the least hated contestant wins by default, people have to keep their heads, look at the candidates' policies , or lack thereof, or tendency to make policy statements and then deny them as Trump did about his climate change remarks in the last debate, and vote accordingly.
