I seems that some here are a bit confused over who is a Christians and who is not.
Perhaps we need to start with a little history of the word "Christian." It was the Romans, and not Paul, who coined the word "Christian." Yes, it did mean followers of Christ...
_____Strong's_____
G5546 Christianos khris-tee-an-os'
from G5547;
a Christian, i.e. follower of Christ.
But the Roman put a different spin on this word. For them, Christians were a never-ending source of aggravation and work for them. They not only looked down on the Christians, but hated them.
So the word "Christian" started out as a curse word. To be called a "Christian" by the Romans was not a good thing.
But leave it to the Christians to take lemons and make lemonade.
The word "Christian" shows up in the NT three times, once in it's plural state.
Acts 11:26
Acts 26:28
1 Peter 4:16
Following Christ is not very descriptive. So many religions have their own definition of what a Christians is. Even some individuals have, as you might have seen here.
But the general consensus among the main-stream churches (except, of course the Catholic church) is anyone who professes that Jesus Christ is Lord...
CLV Rom 10:8 But what is it saying? Near you is the declaration, in your mouth and in your heart--that is, the declaration of faith which we are heralding
9 that, if ever you should be avowing with your mouth the declaration that Jesus is Lord, and should be believing in your heart that God rouses Him from among the dead, you shall be saved.
"Believing in your heart." How many of us have the ability to look into the heart of another? Yet how quickly do we judge another to be Christian or not?
So many of those who profess to be Christian will look down at others and say, this person is not a Christian, then proceed to add to the yoke that Jesus has placed on us all...
CLV Mt 11:29 Lift My yoke upon you and be learning from Me, for meek am I and humble in heart, and you shall be finding rest in your souls,
30 for My yoke is kindly and My load is light.
A practice that has become typical, I am afraid.
Perhaps it is our human nature that makes us want to add to the burden of others. Or perhaps we just do not believe that Jesus' burden is what it is.
Perhaps this problem can be answered along with the question that Jesus asked...
CLV Jn 11:25 Jesus said to her, "I am the Resurrection and the Life. He who is believing in Me, even if he should be dying, shall be living.
26 And everyone who is living and believing in Me, should by no means be dying for the eon. Are you believing this?"

Thanks bud.
There seems to be so much BS flinging around here on Christians. I thought I might try to set the record straight.
