Thanks for the compliment (I am far from being a saint) and thanks for the Filipino reference---every parish I've ever been in, the Filipinos were there, and edifying everyone with their devotion.

Quote from ludlowlowell:
Thanks for the compliment (I am far from being a saint) ...

I am not saying you are or are not a saint ludlowlowell, but you don't become a saint when you die and go to heaven and get canonized by the RCC. A saint is a saint now on Earth today. As well as the saints who have died and gone to heaven.

Don't be afraid to read the bible on your own:
Psalm 16:2-4
Acts 9:12-14
Acts 9:31-33
Acts 9:40-42
Acts 26:9-11
Romans 1:6-8 ( This says "called to be saints" in KJV/NKJV -- perhaps as you understand the word saints; But CLV says "to all who are in Rome, beloved by God, called saints" http://studybible.info/CLV/Romans%201:7 )
Romans 8:26-28 I need His intercession while I am on this Earth in this sinful body. Amen for that.
Romans 12:12-14
Romans 15:24-26
Romans 15:31
Romans 16:14-16
1 Corinthians 1:1-3 NKJV says "called to be saints", but also says "Paul, called to be an apostle". Does Paul have to wait to die and go to heaven to be called an apostle? Or was he an apostle on Earth? CLV again says "called saints" just as we would say you are "called ludlowlowell".
1 Corinthians 6:1-3 We can't go to the dead canonized RCC "saints" to ask them to judge things that pertain to this life.

There is a lot more. I actually went looking for the preface to letters, such as:
2 Corinthians 1:1 To the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in all Achaia
2 Corinthians 13:12-14 "All the saints greet you." while they are alive.
Ephesians 1:1 ...To the saints who are in Ephesus, and faithful in Christ Jesus...
Ephesians 4:11-13 We lack here on Earth and need to be equipped, not when we are dead and in heaven.
Philippians 1:1-3 ...To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, with the bishops and deacons...

https://www.biblegateway.com/quicksearch/?quicksearch=saint&qs_version=NKJV

Some perspectives from the RCC deny us the free gift of God.

Maybe we will read about The conversion of ludlowlowell?

The word "saint" has different meanings, depending on how it is used. It can mean (1) any Christian in the state of grace, (2) any extremely holy and good Christian, or (3) one of the people the Catholic Church has formally canonized. I am a saint by definition #1, but not by 2 or 3. When I said I was far from being a saint I meant I was far from being ectremely holy and good (definition #2).

You don't even LOVE God!

"Call no man your father upon the earth: "for one is your Father, which is in heaven." (Matthew 23:9)

"Why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?" (Luke 6:46)

“Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.” (Mark 7:9)

"If a man love me, he will keep my words."(John 14:23)
"He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings." (John 14:24)

I think the division here is an understanding of what is God's work versus what is our work, and the corresponding gift versus wages.

If God has given you the gift of salvation, then you are a saint -- period. Catholics incorrectly think this means Protestants think they have a license to sin. OSAS

Once you have been saved, your holy behavior (walking in the light) maintains fellowship with God 1 John 1:5-10
RCC seems to be calling this fellowship a state of grace, but adds that you can lose your salvation gift given by God if you are not in this state. Making God an indian-giver LOL

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

It really is the answer to your question, "Where do you put your trust?"
1. In my own righteousness.
2. In the keeping of the Levitical law.
3. In the wimpiness of God, Who is too wimpy to send anyone to Hell
4. In the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ.

4 makes you a saint now and forever
2 is closer to keeping fellowship with God

Most Protestants don't believe in OSAS. Mainline Protestants don't have a clue about salvation; Pentecostals pretty much agree with Catholics that serious enough sin causes one to lose salvation; only Baptists and a few other Fundamentalist non-Pentecostals believe in it.

OSAS believers may start out well, and with all sincerity, but sooner or later an I-have-a-lincese-to-sin mentality sets in. The ones who like to get drunk will start getting again (I'm saved!!!). The ones who like to screw around, or to dress immodestly, start doing that again. If they get divorced they have no qualm about marrying someone else, because, after all, they're saved. Or so they think.

God is not an "Indian giver" (shouldn't this phrase be "white man giver"?). He gives us the state of grace and He won't take it back---it is indeed a free gift from God, and merited by Christ's shed Blood---but we can foolishly throw it away by committing mortal sin. But even then God will give it back if we repent and go to Confession.

You're a sick, sick man, Lud. Jesus never said anything about calling anyone "dad." If you think they are the same, call your priest "dad." That will put the lie to that theory.

You lie. You don't call them "Dad."

You call them "Father" which Jesus forbids.

You don't even love God.

Mat 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, ...pray to thy Father.

Ludlow/Satan: I would recommend that people pray sometimes to Mary or one of the saints... Let the prayer life have some variety.

"Call no man your father upon the earth: "for one is your Father, which is in heaven." (Matthew 23:9)

Catholics give Jesus the finger on that one.

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: Exo 20:4-5)

And in this one, they give God the finger:

"...if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: (Matthew 6:14)

But Ludlow/Satan contradicts Jesus and says: "God forgives repentant sinners only. God does not forgive everyone who forgives others."

Ludlow/Satan slaps God in the face and says, "Up yours. You do not forgive everyone who forgives others."

You do not love Jesus or God, Ludlow. He says so and you confirm it.

You are a sick man, Lud, and getting sicker, digging your hole into unreality deeper every day.

Your argument is with Jesus, not with me.

All you have to do is obey Him, and you refuse. Why would He let you into Heaven, a malcontent and as disobedient as you are?
