BOSTON (AP) — Former President Barack Obama has been named the 2017 winner of the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award.
The John F. Kennedy Library Foundation announced Thursday that Obama was honored “for his enduring commitment to democratic ideals and elevating the standard of political courage in a new century.”
Kennedy’s daughter, Caroline Kennedy, and her son, Jack Schlossberg, will present Obama with the award on May 7 in Boston.
Caroline Kennedy says Obama carried her father’s torch, “providing young people of all backgrounds with an example they can emulate in their own lives.”
The award is presented annually to public servants who have made courageous decisions of conscience without regard for the personal or professional consequences. It is named for Kennedy’s 1957 Pulitzer Prize-winning book, “Profiles in Courage.”

Columbia Point in Dorchester..
I've never been there either.. don't think it is far far from Carson Beach & The Exposition Center...

Carson beach is directly behind it.South Boston has gone from a middle class Irish neighborhood to an upscale very expensive neighborhood for the wealthy.I read the crowds were huge at citypoint last weekend with the really warm weather,huge long lines to buy ice cream and soda at Kelly's Landing.

Haven't been in that part of town in years. Occasionally I go to Suffolk Downs in East Boston, is as close as I get. Glad to hear South Boston is doing OK though. !

I used to go fishing there many times,, I pushed a few Vietnamese people over the side of the wall and kept there fish.
Any ways .. southie like many neighborhoods in Boston have been demolished by democrats and there policies.
I'd run for mayor but because I pushed a few Vietnamese men over a sea wall I have a record ..
