In the morning prayers of today's Catholic breviary readings is contained the following prayer:

"Lord God, your only Son wept over ancient Jerusalem, soon to be destroyed for its lack of faith. He established the new Jerusalem firmly upon rock and made it the mother of the faithful. Make us rejoice in your Church, and grant that all people may be reborn into the freedom of your Spirit."

Who has a comment? Judaizers, you guys in particular, do you have a comment? (Where has Tnteacher been lately?)

Breviary was inherited from the Jews:

Regular daily prayer appears to have both been inherited from the Jewish Church and an outgrowth of the extended apostolic Eucharist. In accordance with Psalm 119:164 -- "Seven times a day do I praise Thee" -- devout Jews would offer prayers and psalms periodically throughout the day, and such services were a feature of synagogue worship in the days of the Apostles.

Psalm 119:164 Amplified Bible (AMP)

164
[a]Seven times a day I praise You,
Because of Your righteous ordinances.
Footnotes:

And besides their 3 times a day prayers, on special observant days I am pretty sure they still pray 7 time s a day.

So no idea why you are picking on the Jews as if you are better at prayers than they are.

You really do think, you are "special" lud.

Well, just saying, you do know you are not supposed to brag about your prayers, do you? Did you miss that ?

I'm not picking on anybody. I just quotes from today's breviary reading.

Isna, are you familiar with the doctrine of supercessionism, a doctrine taught by both the Catholic Church and most Protestant denominations? Do you agree or disagree with it?

That's CLEARLY a Catholic church self-serving propaganda prayer.

"The Roman Catholic Church contends that its origin is the death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ in approximately AD 30. The Catholic Church proclaims itself to be the church that Jesus Christ died for, the church that was established and built by the apostles. Is that the true origin of the Catholic Church? On the contrary. Even a cursory reading of the New Testament will reveal that the Catholic Church does not have its origin in the teachings of Jesus or His apostles. In the New Testament, there is no mention of the papacy, worship/adoration of Mary (or the immaculate conception of Mary, the perpetual virginity of Mary, the assumption of Mary, or Mary as co-redemptrix and mediatrix), petitioning saints in heaven for their prayers, apostolic succession, the ordinances of the church functioning as sacraments, infant baptism, confession of sin to a priest, purgatory, indulgences, or the equal authority of church tradition and Scripture. So, if the origin of the Catholic Church is not in the teachings of Jesus and His apostles, as recorded in the New Testament, what is the true origin of the Catholic Church?"

But KB, all those Catholic doctrines are covered by 2 Thessalonians 2:15 (2:14 in some translations). And all those doctrines were believed by the early Christians as far back as we have historical records.

Two doctrines you certainly won't find, either in the New Testament or in the extra-biblical writings of the early Christians: any hint that they believed in eugenics or any other form of racism, or any hint they believed in 700,000 creator sons.

That's not what my post above yours says and its self-serving Catholic foolishness to assert 2 Thessalonians 2:15 is speaking about all the traditions/teachings of the Catholic church or precisely what traditions are being spoken about and by whom.

In any case, it is abundantly CLEAR that prayer is a Catholic church self-serving propaganda prayer.

You are such a perverted man, Ludlow. Eugenics is not about racism. It is about racial (as in the entire human race) improvement - and only perverted people like you would keep referring to it as Nazism and evil. And no early Christians did not believe in what they didn't know or weren't taught and they knew nothing about the various and numerous Paradise Creator Sons of the order of Jesus. Their minds were not ready to comprehend and grasp such enlightenment just as your mind with its shameless and blasphemous and murderous teachings about God in rejection of the teachings of Jesus is not.

Yes I am familiar with it, and am one of the few in Christianity who disagrees with it strongly.

Hebrews 10:4 ?

New International Version
It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

I do not believe that Jesus replaced goats and sheep. It was his sacrifice and his alone, that took away the {singular} sin of the world. He was not just a replacement for sheep and goats.

That is why I dislike those that doctrines that claim they "replaced" the Jews.

I am not a "Judizer", was just surprised you made that comment since for those of us who do breviary, much of it came from Judaism. ( I see nothing wrong with that though)

The prayer I posted does presuppose the doctrine of supercessionism, and any who don't believe in the doctrine won't like the prayer. I have never thought of you as a Judaizer, Isna, but failure to believe in supercessionism does necessarily lead to the judaizing spirit.

Quite opposite, I do not believe we were meant to be Jews.

I have no idea how you come to these conclusions.

What part of :

Hebrews 10:4 ?

New International Version
It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

Makes me a Judaizer?

Quite the opposite, I do not consider my self a replacement Jew. Or new form of one.

Galatians 3:28 Amplified Bible (AMP)

28 There is [now no distinction in regard to salvation] neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you [who believe] are all one in Christ Jesus [no one can claim a spiritual superiority].

Read that and think who does this? Why all the groups that claim they are the new Jews, or replacement for the Jews. That is who.

I make no such claim and nor do I subscribe to the notion that God makes some people special. And if he ever did? Jesus stopped that.

BTW, I never said I did not pray.

"O God, whose property is always to have mercy and to spare, receive our petitions, and grant that we and all Thy servants who are bound by the chain of sin, may, by the compassion of Thy goodness, mercifully be absolved. Through Christ our Lord."

Like I said, Isna, I never thought of you as a Judaizer, and I still don't. But where does the heresy of Judaizing start? It starts with Christians either rejecting or failing to have been taught the doctrine of supercessionism.

I think we could say most Catholics, Protestants, and Eastern Orthodox believe in supercessionism but probably aren't familiar with the word supercessionism. Most understand that the Christian Church has superseded the Jewish Synagogue, and all the promises made to the Jews are now made to believers in Christ only.

The early Christians endured horrible torture and death rather than state that there was more than one God, and some 19 centuries later God reveals that there are 700,000 gods all along? I don't think so.

You are such a sick minded person. Explain how it is racism when there are probably seriously genetically ill/deformed, violent social misfits and degenerates in all of the different colored races on earth? Are you against the cure of the genetically and mentally ill? Why are you against society one day deciding to control in a humane way the rate of reproduction of lets say the criminally insane, the mentally ill or the violent criminal anti-social degenerates of society?

The Caucasian race is not a colored race, KB, you know better than that. Have you ever heard the Urantia children's hymn?

Jesus loves me this I know

Because the Urantia Book tells me so

Little ones to Him belong

So long as they're healthy, white, and strong!

Words are as we use them. "Colored races" has always meant non-Caucasian people. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored Peoples (NAACP) does not reger to Caucasian people, although it may have Caucasian members. If you say "colored races" and mean all peoples, why not just say all peoples?

And eugenics is a form of racism, and deep down I think you know this.

If Johnny and Susie have a proclivity for cancer in their families, would you force sterilization on them? If bipolar disorder runs in Freddy and Laura's families, would you forcefully sterilize them? If Bobby and Peggy have a lot of hangnails in their families, would you forcefully sterilize them? How bad does the inherited disease have to be? And who are these "inferior" and "degenerate" srains of peoples the Urantia Book talks about?

How bad does this "seriously" genetically ill/deformed disorder have to be before we force sterilization on the person? Harelip? Blindness? Deafness? Left-handedness? In some primitive cultures all of these are often seen as a sign of diabolic presence. And these "inferior" and "degenerate" strains---could you identify who these are, please?
