Grant you...I thought some of the things in Obamacare were a mistake, especially the "tax" for not having healthcare. Some of the things were sorely needed, such as getting rid of the "pre-existing condition" stuff, and canceling coverage when someone got sick because it was not financially feasible.
But this bill they were about to vote on really scared me. My health care premium would have gone through the roof...and our company has a pretty decent plan compared to others.
Just got the news that the GOP leaders pulled the bill from its vote, and Paul Ryan has stated that there are no changes for now. Wonder how Daddy Trump will feel about that (they were going to blame Ryan anyway if the vote failed)...

I feel they are pushing it too fast. It needs to be REALLY looked at piece by piece and make good changes for ALL. The penalty for not having healthcare is just wrong. Pre-existing conditions need to be accepted. In this world today there are more and more people who have pre-existing conditions: obesity, have auto-immune diseases and better food choices need to be taught to all walks of life. Just to start off......

Little kids were getting denied coverage when the company their parents worked for changed medical insurance, and the new insurance company denied treatment for inner ear infections (pre-existing condition). That is just wrong.

Yes, it is. I also think it's wrong that special needs adults are not able to stay on their parents' health insurance after turning 26.

Big Pharma is a HUGE problem here. Also the fact that the States still sell food/ingredients that are banned in other countries. Healthy food is more expensive than Junk food is a big problem which leads to poor nutrition and auto-immune diseases. Obesity, Diabetes, Cancer, and on and on.
It also boils down to each of us. We control what goes in our bodies. I'm just as guilty as the next one when eating the wrong things which I am working on daily. It's not easy but we have to strive for a healthier way of life. Parents need to teach their children to eat better.
It's hard to do when Junk food is so much cheaper than the healthy, nutritious food we should be buying for ourselves and our children.
WE ALL need to contribute to the new Healthcare Reform. Not just politicians.
Okay, I'm off my soap box now. LOL

The Ryancare/Trumpcare bill scared the hell out of me also Mello, I read the summary and parts of the bill itself and it was awful for folks 50-64, for low income and for those in the most dire need for affordable healthcare. All the while it gave tax breaks to the upper 2%. Both parties need to sit down and fix what we have, they need to do away with the individual mandate. The ACA is by far not perfect BUT it could definitely be made to work. I'm appalled that Trump is just going to let it fail (altho many experts say it's not going to) rather than everyone work together to do what's right by the American people

When has a president in the last century cared about those in need
Or
Government try to work together
Or
Worry about what's best for America or the 99 percent of the population that makes America great?
Is it really a big surprise trump is like the rest
Concerned only with his wants and that of his cronies?
