As I've said before, I make well over minimum wage, yet I was doing better financially in 1984 - on minimum wage.

Costs of everything go up, yet wages never do. Only the salaries & bonuses of the CEO's are going up at such an alarming rate yet you schmucks are dumb enough to keep voting for the idiots who keep giving them more tax breaks & less regulations.

There are ways to do that. The current rigging of the system enables utopian bonuses for CEO's. You simply un-rig the system. You do this by reducing the supply of labor and increasing the demand for labor. Companies will have no choice but to stop exorbitant executive pay so they can pay their workers more to keep them.

This can be done by making it so painful for corporations to outsource and ship jobs overseas that it's less painful to keep the jobs here. You do this by getting rid of bad trade deals. You do this by eliminating the ability of companies to flood the labor market with foreigners.

When workers have negotiating power over their employers is when the executive salaries become more reasonable.

Perhaps working for a huge company is not everybody's cup of tea. Everyone involved is important in the relationship but remember, it is always the business owner who took the risk to start the business in the first place. If the players don't like the rules or pay scale at the company they're always free to hit the door and find a job they like or even start their own company. Life really is too short to be stuck working in a job they hate.

Start your own company? There's a good idea. Small businesses are thriving at the moment.
