Providing there is a workable plan to replace Assad with someone of a more moderate nature. Something in Syria is not kosher. Assad has a sizable military yet Assad has dragged his feet going after ISIS. Now that Russia is there they too are dragging their feet. Assad has twice now used chemical weapons on his own people. The more logical step would had been to use the chemical weapons on ISIS. It appears that Assad is purging his country of undesirables. Including his own Civilians. What is taking place is Europe is being overrun with refugees. Before long Europe is going to feel the financial burden in a way that it's going to hurt their market. I'm surprised the stock market has not already reacted.

There was a huge gas and oil find right off the coast of Syria, and Assad offered it to his ally Putin if he would help repel the American proxy war against him. Putin accepted and moved his troops into Syria to help Assad. So Putin has a vested interest in helping his ally Syria. Russia is not just going to pull up roots and leave.
