You don't if you are an OSAS believer. If you are an OSAS believer you believe you can break all ten commandments and still go to Heaven, just because you believe in Jesus.
"If you sin, sin boldly, but believe more boldly still."

I believe in the ten commandments.
I have also broken all of the ten commandments.
I also believe that Jesus has saved me and that He will present me Holy and blameless.
Would you mind posting the 10 commandments so we know what we are talking about?
Better to be concerned with the OS part of your OSAS.
Once Dead, get right with God through Purgatory is a more dangerous belief, and might lead one to believe they can sin boldly and just get it handled in purgatory.

Do you believe in christ? Or God?
You don't if you believe in the Catholic Church, if you believe in the Catholic Church you believe the church is Jesus and jesus is the church.
And by proxy since Jesus is God that would also make the church god.
Salvation didn't come by jesus but by the church so says the Catholic Church.
The Catholic Church believes their own form of teachings. Teachings of men and believe that those teaching supercede and are above the words of Jesus and God.
The Catholic Church need not read the bible for they have their church fathers who they believe.
The Catholic Church is time and time again contradicting what Jesus or God has said through the Holy word.
Oh wait, the word isn't holy to them or else they would believe it above their own opinions and teachings.
Ludlow insist that what God done through his son Jesus wasn't good enough.
That we as man have to do something to keep what he freely gave.
Ludlow insist that babes are born with sin, so much so they need to be baptized or go to hell.
But jesus said, for of such is the kingdom of heaven, and he said this about children who had not been baptized.
Ludlow and the Catholic Church sell a part time salvation.
Jesus only offers eternal salvation.
Ludlow gets saved every day of the week and twice on sundays.

Looptex, I strongly suspect that deep in your mind and heart that you know that the Catholic religion is the True Religion, and you have to make excuses for not converting, but dang, dude, I think you can invent a better excuse than that.

then you suspect wrongly!!!!
I am a baptist, not because I was raised baptist, but by choice.
I chose to be a baptist because I believe their doctrine and beliefs to be closer to that of what the bible teaches than any other denomination.
My thoughts of the Catholic Church.
Well, they have changed over the last few years.
Why? Because of you and things you say.
And the change hasn't been for the better but for the worse.
I dare say that if a poll were taken in heaven, to find out which denomination each soul there was while on earth, less than .000001 there would be Catholic.
Does that really sound like I think anything good about the Catholic Church?

Lud,
Have you kept any of the 10? I have not.
That first one is tough. Perhaps this forum may be your god more than God is? Something to think about. You have put nothing before God? It may even be the RCC you put before God.
Praise God that we are saved by the righteousness of Christ and not by our righteousness.
The law is a schoolmaster to bring us to Christ.

Freegratis, no, there are none perfect except Jesus and Mary, but the Lord expects us, once we become believers, once God has given us His grace, to gradually grow to the point where we do not sin. Otherwise we go to Hell, if we have unrepentant mortal sin, or Purgatory, if we have unrepentant venial sin (then on to Heaven) (all souls in Purgatory will eventually get to Heaven).
Those who think, like Martin Luther thought, and like modern OSAS believers think, that faith gives us a license to sin---those will be in bad shape on Judgment Day.

yep, your gonna have a sad awakening.
That really just shows your ignorance.
In the kingdom of heaven there is neither male nor female, greek nor jew, but you think there are catholics.
Once again, lud denies the word..
Lud, you do realize your ignorance and spouting off such things does more harm to the gospel of christ than judas did when he betrayed jesus.
You would do well to forget you have a computer, and not even speak to anyone while riding in your taxi.

Perfect? I only asked if you have kept any of the 10. I know I have not.
So what is the point of bringing in the 10 commandments in your OSAS topic?
You probably should have started with that quote which you apparently misquoted.
Purgatory gives Catholics a license to sin -- in their minds.
And apparently you have a license to commit so-called venial sins.
RCC understanding of Mary is another problem. Mary needed Jesus as her savior as much as you and I need Jesus.

Revelation 22:18-19
18 For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

The book of Acts is only in the Bible because the Catholic Church put it there. The book of Revelation is only in the Bible because the Catholic Church put it there. If Jesus' name is the only name under which we may be saved, then all the more reason we need to belong to the Church Jesus founded, and not some man-made denomination.
When you read Acts or Revelation or any other book of the New Testament, do you find one united Church, or do you find a gazillion denominations?

The Catholic Church was founded by Christ. All the others broke off from the Catholic Church. Jesus is the vine, and the Catholic Church is the vine (everything Jesus is, the Church is also). When we get cut off from the vine we wither and die.

To be raised Catholic and to leave the Catholic Church as Martin Luther, John Calvin, FJO, and Ladybug have done is to commit the same sin as Judas Iscariot.

How in the hell do you think you answered the question?
The question did not mention a vine or being cut off or grafted in.
The question was.
When speaking to catholics do you find all in agreement or many different views?
When speaking of the Catholic Church do you find one unified church or a church that has split?
That is the question.
You speak of being one unified church, how many sects of the Catholic Church are there?
So much for that unification you speak of.
You do know what unified or unification means don't you?
It does not mean a split happened and one part is still unified or in unification.
When a split occures, unification is at best partial, one side is unified together and the other is unified together.
When the Catholic Church split, unification was gone never to return.
So while your spouting off about one unified church or a gazillion denominations, take note that everyone but you, knows the Catholic Church is not unified and therefore is not the church christ built.
Now be a man and answer the question.

Rest assured, Freegratis, the Catholic Church did put those veses there. The Church put the ENTIRE 27 books together with the 46 books of the Septuagint Old Testament and gave the world the Bible.
No Catholic Church, no Bible.
The Church of England -- the Christian Church translated the first English BIBLE.
LUD, without continually labelling him an habitual liar, loves to parse historical fact to give Christianity a Catholic Church slant. Which is to say, a false teaching of not only history but of biblical history.
Biblia -- which is a Latin word coined (no pun intended) from the Koine Greek word for "BOOK(S)" became "BIBLE" in the English translation.
This, then, appears to be Luds support for stating the Catholic Church have the world the Bible.
Lud dicounts which came first:
The TORAH
The QU'RAN
or
The BIBLE.
In addition, LUD, repeatedly asserts that the Catholic Church is so empowered that it is the originator and custodian of Old Testament history, not just New Testament declarations.
In actuality, the Roman Catholic Church (pay particular attention to the worn ROMAN) would like to brainwash the world to convince them that without the Ronan Catholic Church there would be no GOD without their incredible custodianship when, in fact, the Roman Empire wasn't even viable as a world power until AFTER Jesus' murder by the Pharasees.
The Catholic Church arise out of the false teachings of Christianity by remnants of surviving sects of PAGANS, PHARASEES, and SEDUCEES.
factually, the Catholic Church was established upon the foundations of the teachings of the law, teachings, and actions of the very things JESYS CHRIST warns the world to beware of.
(It's in the Bible. Jesus spoke it and it is recorded.)
The New Testament of the Holy Bible may be the first "political spin" recorded in all time.
However, God's truth is present amongst the spin and God is not a confuser of the truth; He will ensure the truth is revealed if one seeks the truth. Amen.

The fourth chapter of First Timothy does not refer to the Catholic Church, it refers to the Gnostics. The Church does not forbid everyone from marrying, as the Gnostics did (the Gnostics taught that marriage and procreation are evil), the Church only forbids those who freely choose the priestly or monastic state from marrying. And the Church does not totally forbid the eating of meat like the Gnostics did---the Church does forbid eating meat on certain days, currently, Ash Wednesday and the Fridays of Lent.

So your point is:
When the Gnostics forbid marriage and eating certain foods, the Gnostics are wrong.
But when the RCC does the same, it's okay, since the RCC wrote the bible?
Steve might jump all over this regarding Paul not being married.
But Leviticus 21 and 1 Timothy 3 both have priests marrying, yet the RCC forbids it (not just having it optional).
Check out Rev 18:4 and choose for yourself whether the RCC is the wh*re of Babylon. Of course the RCC sites say they are not.
