brashdoc says: I thought I had seen some outlandish & unintelligent false teaching on here, like the Urantia book...

============================================================

Keep in mind, brash, that you cannot prove that one single thing you believe is true. Not a single thing.

The only reason you characterize Urantia as "uninteligent" and "false teaching" is because it's not what you currently believe, none of which you can prove is true.

And yes, Nazi or not, Goebbels spoke the truth when he said:

"They follow the principle that when one lies, one should lie big and stick to it. They keep up their lies, even at the risk of looking ridiculous." -Joseph Goebbels

The Catholics do that.

No one has a corner on the truth. The truth is where you find it.

"...The Spirit of truth, ...will guide you into all truth." (John 16:13)

Look at that. Jesus didn't say the bible would guide you into all truth and He didn't say the Catholic church would guide you into all truth.

You can "prove" the Urantia book is true?

Nope you cannot, sorry.

Never said I could. So neither of us have anything to be sorry about, in that regard.

The issue here is brash referring to the beliefs of others as "outlandish & unintelligent false teaching."

I did not start the issue. Brash started it with the implication that someone else's beliefs are "outlandish & unintelligent false teaching."

He can't prove that and he can't prove that what HE believes is true.

So your strawman fails.

Instead of asking me, you should be asking brash, "Can you prove that their beliefs are "outlandish & unintelligent false teaching"?

And no, he cannot.

No, not really Furch.

Doc believes in Scripture and the Bible, it is the main source of authority for my self s well. And in a Christian forum , one should not have to "prove " that. But with so many claiming out side Scripture ,sources of Authority on here? Its strange to say the least.

You do believe in the Trinity, you have said before anyway, have you not?

And even if you have not claimed Urantia supersedes Scripture, some Uarantia followers have, and others have even re written the Bible to fit their pet doctrines.

Logic:

Mr. Brash says: "I thought I had seen some outlandish & unintelligent false teaching on here, like the Urantia book..."

Rational, normal person asks: Can you prove that the other person's beliefs and/or The Urantia Book are "outlandish & unintelligent false teachings" and that your beliefs are true?

(Answer possibly pending.)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mr. Ludlow says: "Mary is the Queen of Heaven."

Rational, normal person asks: Can you prove that Mary is the Queen of Heaven?

Mr. Ludlow says: "I can prove that Mary is the Queen of Heaven. The Catholic Church says so, and the Church is infallible about things like this."

Rational, normal person asks: Can you prove that "the Church is infallible about things like this"?

And so on.

You are off the track. And your answer, that "Doc believes in Scripture and the Bible" is no more of an answer than Ludlow's answer: "I can prove that Mary is the Queen of Heaven. The Catholic Church says so, and the Church is infallible about things like this."

You should be asking Doc how he can prove his statement that other people's beliefs are "outlandish & unintelligent false teaching."

Instead, you are making excuses for him by saying "Doc believes in Scripture and the Bible."

Well, I already know that. It's not my fault or my problem. It's not my fault or my problem that Ludlow believes "the Church is infallible about things like this." But it's not proof that someone else's belief is "outlandish & unintelligent false teaching."

Doc is trashing other people's beliefs and you say it's OK because "Doc believes in Scripture and the Bible."?

"It's OK for you to trash other people's beliefs because you believe in the bible and scripture, Doc."

Is that your view? That it's OK for Doc to trash another with his assertion that their beliefs are "outlandish & unintelligent false teaching" because Doc believes in Scripture and the Bible?

Is it your view that Doc has the right to characterize (and even bear false witness to) other people's beliefs and their book as ""outlandish & unintelligent false teaching" because Doc believes in Scripture and the Bible?

I'm not asking anyone to prove that the Scripture and the Bible, is the "main source of authority" for many on this Forum, which, by the way, is NOT the BIBLE Forum. Are you confused about that? Did you think this was the Bible Forum? I'm asking Doc to prove his statement that other people's beliefs are "outlandish & unintelligent false teaching."

And whether I believe in the Trinity or not has nothing whatsoever to do with this. You must try to focus. You're all over the place. And I have no idea what you're talking about when you say, "and others have even re written the Bible to fit their pet doctrines," nor do I know what that has to do with what Brashdoc said.

To summarize the bottom line:
Your beliefs are ""outlandish & unintelligent false teachings" because they are not what I believe."
