Russia is not THE enemy. They are clearly an adversary and not an ally. And no, it is entirely FALSE that "If if was any other country, no problem." You should do some research into the actual history of the US, in our dealings with allies and adversaries alike. We don't treat even with our closest allies in time of war, the way Trump has been dealing with Russia. No one gets a blank check. There have been a series of problems between the US and countries who were NOMINALLY our friends and allies, but you will only be aware of those if you both pay close attention to all the news, AND you do some serious reading about past history. I particularly recommend you catch up on events that happened since World War 2.

This is seen most sharply in Syria, where Russia intervened militarily to frustrate US efforts to oust President Bashar al-Assad. No less important are domestic considerations. The ruling class is acutely aware of the immense class tensions that exist in the society over which it presides, tensions that have been artificially suppressed for many decades. The United States is the most unequal country in the industrial world, with 20 billionaires possessing more wealth than half of the population. The 2016 elections themselves showed the growth of anti-capitalist sentiment and hostility to both parties, expressed in the support of millions of people for Clinton’s opponent in the Democratic primaries, Bernie Sanders, who falsely claimed to be an “independent” and a “socialist.” Facing the threat of mounting social opposition, the US ruling class is seeking a new framework for the waging of war abroad and domestic repression at home. The “war on terror,” which has served this purpose for some fifteen years, is discredited, not least because the US is allied with Al Qaeda-linked Islamist forces in Syria and elsewhere in the Middle East. There is a need for a new narrative to divert social tensions, ideologically unify the nation, subordinate the working class and, when necessary, suppress opposition. The Democratic Party cannot conduct a fight against Trump on any sort of progressive basis. It is terrified of a mass movement of the working class. Were Trump to either resign or be impeached as a result of this right-wing campaign, his administration would simply be replaced with another government of war, austerity and reaction. This poses all the more clearly the urgent need for the working class to intervene with its own socialist and internationalist program.

They can't even stay true to their own treaties with the Ukraine countries. Bush, Obama, and Hillary pointed this out to Putin in their personal visits to Russia. And Hillary also pointed out to Putin that the US is aware that they cheated in their own election to get Putin elected there, and she expressed the US sentiment on that. Yet, even though Hillary stood up to Putin, and advised him of the US disappointment in his actions in Crimea and his election, she was able to negotiate with Putin to acquire Russian Airspace we needed for our military access to Afghanistan. A first for America. No one before her was able to acquire Russian Airspace- Not Obama personally- Not Bush or his Secretaries of state! But somehow- Hillary got his approval. And we still use that airspace today. Russia (Putin) just wants the least path of resistance with their worldly aggressions and they want the US Sanctions lifted. They needed a sympathetic stooge in the White House to accomplish this- Someone that is only in it for themselves and looking to feather their own ass- someone who didn't mind cheating to win at any cost- and someone to look the other way with their aggressions in the Ukraine, Syria, and Iran. So, Putin, in turn, tried to feather Trump's a for him by helping him win the election. You would have to be a special kind of stupid to not figure all this out!
