The word perdition is none other than the SAME Greek word used for 'DESTROY' in Mt 10:28 & none other than the SAME word used in Jn 3:16 & other places: PERISH. It is also translated as 'LOST' in other passages. Here is what the Hebrew & Greek scholar, W.E. Vines has to say in His Expository Dictionary of Old & NT Words concerning this Greek word, 'apollumi.'
This guy is wrong again.
First off, he is talking about Matthew 27. The word "preish" is not used in Matt. 27. So his point about the word "perish" is actually pointless.
Here is what the Hebrew and Greek scholar James Strong says about the word "apollumi"...
_____Strong's_____
G622 apollumi ap-ol'-loo-mee
from G575 and the base of G3639;
to destroy fully (reflexively, to perish, or lose), literally or figuratively.
Again, notice the words "literally or figuratively"? This indicates an idiom. Figuratively means it doesn't really happen. No one really perishes. They perish in a figurative sense only.
CLV Jn 6:12 Now as they are filled, He is saying to His disciples, "Gather the superfluous fragments, lest some should perish."
Here is a good example. We are talking here about the remnants of the loaves and fishes. These remnants don't literally "perish." But they might spoil, rendering them unfit to eat.
CLV Jn 3:16 For thus God loves the world, so that He gives His only-begotten Son, that everyone who is believing in Him should not be perishing, but may be having life eonian.
So we have learned that "perish" isn't the same word we use in English. No one really perishes. But they are changed in some way.
Again, in Matthew 27, the word "perdition" isn't used. All this guy has done is try to stitch together some unrelated Bible verses.
Not exactly what God put together.
Most English versions don't use the word "perdition." It's kinda dramatic. Except, of course, the KJV. And the Catholic versions. Out of 25 Bibles, only 9 used "perdition."
It means "destroy."
In this day and age, if they mean "destroy" why don't they just say "destroy"?
Once again this quacker is way off base.
In the end, Judas could only kill himself.
CLV Mt 10:28 "And do not fear from those who are killing the body, yet are not able to kill the soul. Yet be fearing Him, rather, Who is able to destroy the soul as well as the body in Gehenna.
He will be judged, just as the text says.
