Those of you who were for trump pulling out of this, please explain why. I've seen many responses in various threads about how it would force the US to do any number of things, why do you believe that? As we all know (our should know) it's a non-binding agreement and each country can decide what they're going to do.

It was a stupid agreement. We were gonna fork out billions to other countries.. That alone was enough to say NO..
You want your tax money spent on this?? You want us to get Federal taxed more on top of the added improvement tax you pay on practically everything?
I do agree we need to encourage clean Air, streams and Oceans but this was so terrible for the Americans.
Heck I never knew about it until Trump spoke about how the US was paying the most and terrible it was written for the Americans.

Maybe we're leading from behind.
Like when we allowed the Muslim brotherhood to take Egypt, or when we allowed Libya to fall into chaos, or when we allowed Assad to slaughter 1000s of people.

It's a tax and spend program. Governments will tax and regulate companies and energy providers to the breaking point.
China and India will then dominate world manufacturing.
CA has taxed and regulated companies, now a lot are leaving because the cost of doing business is too high.
Yet CA has some of the worst polluted cities in the country.
Let's first agree on the causes of climate change then come up with a plan.

It's like the old saying. If your buddy ran off the bridge why follow.
Let Europe do their thing and we will do our thing. China and India are not agreeing. Why should we?
Europeans are already taxed to death. When their accord kicks in they will be looking at America saying we should have been like them.

A Top Senate Democrat Reminded Trump That He Once Urged Obama To Act On Climate Change
A top Senate Democrat jabbed President Donald Trump on Thursday by reviving an eight-year-old letter in which Trump calls for urgent action on climate change.
In the open letter, which appeared as a full-page advertisement in a 2009 edition of The New York Times, Trump and other business leaders urge then-President Obama to enact climate legislation, invest in clean energy projects, and lead the world in combating climate change. Trump's three adult children are also listed as signatories.
The open letter stands in stark contrast to Trump's current views on the environment. Trump has frequently expressed climate-change skepticism in recent years, including once in 2012when he suggested that climate change was a Chinese-manufactured hoax. On Thursday, he is expected to withdraw the United States from the Paris climate accord, which is an agreement between 195 countries that set goals for reducing worldwide pollution.
Sen. Tom Carper of Delaware, the ranking member of the Senate Environment Committee, didn't waste the opportunity to remind Trump of his apparent change of heart.
"Will President Trump heed his own advice?" Carper asked in a Twitter post.
The 2009 open letter first resurfaced last year in a report from Grist, a nonprofit environmental news site.
“If we fail to act now, it is scientifically irrefutable that there will be catastrophic and irreversible consequences for humanity and our planet," the letter tells Obama and Congress ahead of the United Nations Climate Change Conference in December of that year.
It continues: "We urge you, our government, to strengthen and pass United States legislation, and lead the world by example. We support your effort to ensure meaningful and effective measures to control climate change, an immediate challenge facing the United States and the world today."
"Please allow us, the United States of America, to serve in modeling the change necessary to protect humanity and our planet."

China, the 2nd largest economy, and the main polluter on the planet agreed to do nothing for 14 years. Meanwhile US Taxpayers, already heavily indebted, have paid a billion dollars to some group, nobody knows of, nor reports to anyone what they actually do with the money.
Yea, I'd shut that shit down in a heartbeat.

He's definitely not consistent with his views. He changed his mind when someone told him that being against climate change was the way to go. He's lied so many times now. How do you decide what to believe?
And again, he didn't have any interest in working with democrats before. Why do you think he'll do it now? Just because he says so?

What Dems fail to realize is that, because Trump IS so weak minded, if they would work with/on him he could be convinced to work on Dem causes.
Hell, on the campaign trail he spoke about acting on some Dem causes. Even though he probably didn't resize that they were.

Today's conservatives must have forgotten about that. Maybe you should remind those racist conservatives. There are several here in the forum.

Quote from juma2112: What Dems fail to realize is that, because Trump IS so weak minded, if they would work with/on him he could be convinced to work on Dem causes.
Hell, on the campaign trail he spoke about acting on some Dem causes. Even though he probably didn't resize that they were.
Doubtful, since he's set on undoing everything Obama has done and doing everything Steve Bannon wants. You're correct about him being weak minded, though. I think we're all aware of that.

Those of you who were for trump pulling out of this, please explain why. I've seen many responses in various threads about how it would force the US to do any number of things, why do you believe that? As we all know (our should know) it's a non-binding agreement and each country can decide what they're going to do.
Because unlike Obama and all the paupers who put together this largely symbolic agreement, President Trump isn't a bull$hitting politician looking for a good excuse to go on vacation at the tax payers expense! And unlike Obama, President Trump isn't one to WASTE TIME on anything that does not deliver an ROI!
So STFU already we are tired of your money wasting, polluting, hypocritical double standards! If you want to help curb emissions just quit breathing! It will solve a great deal of your other problems as well. Just hold your breath until Trump is out of office and before you know it all your petty issues will be purged from your miserable existence!
I guess the REAL question here is, why would ANYONE waste the time and money to work up a non-binding agreement!? The answer is clear - these politicians who did this were only interested in going on a free trip to Paris at their constituents expense! It's just the sort of sham we would expect from liberals!
