Comey's statement in all if glory. Will it cast dark shadows over the President.
Statement for the Record
Senate Select Committee on Intelligence
James B. Comey
June 8, 2017
Chairman Burr, Ranking Member Warner, Members of the Committee.
Thank you for inviting me to appear before you today. I was asked to testify today to describe for you my interactions with President-Elect and President Trump on subjects that I understand are of interest to you. I have not included every detail from my conversations with the President, but, to the best of my recollection, I have tried to include information that may be relevant to the Committee.

Well, sort of. The text that was published already (not the testimony itself, that hasn't happened yet) does include support for Trumps' previous claim that Comey told him that he was NOT (at that time) under investigation.
On the other hand, the same document effectively declares Trump to be a brazen liar, when he also claimed that it was Comey who came to HIM, and who arranged the dinner that Trump actually arranged. It also says that Trump DID ask that the investigations of his friends be ended, which again shows Trump in a negative light.
But I agree, no impeachable offense kind of "smoking gun," just the usual Trump lies, Trump exaggerations, and Trump incompetence. So far.

It's a bombshell. Judged by various inspectors. More will come tomorrow.
