Repeal Obamacare in it's entirety. But leave it in place until Dems start to participate in the process of rewriting a new plan. I can support this approach.

The dems will continue to not see anything wrong with Obamacare.

their leadership will not allow them to vote to repeal it.

Why is repeal a must?
What would be wrong with fixing (properly) the disaster that is Obamacsre?

Also not sure why the Gov't would decide to 'pay up' for such irresponsible behavior rather than telling the individuals to take responsibility for your own damn self.

The problem would be that there would be a thousand fixes that would have to happen. And in the meantime the beast that is obamcare would continue to drive up the cost of insurance, drive up the out of pockets, (by law out of pocket increases next January, that is part of the law for those liberals that still love this thing). By next January there will be millions of people in this country that will have only one insurance company choice. How is that for progress?

If Congress doesn't do anything then Trump can start rolling it back by using rules and regulations that were entirely objective and left up to HHS to rule on, he can just start changing those rulings to provide actual real relief for people.

Starfox,

That all sounds well and good.
The problem is, it's all just more of the same excuses.

The fact is that each party wants their name on a monumentous piece of legislation. Neither party is willing to work together FOR THE GOOD OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. Both parties are only interested in personal, and party power and glory. So they continue to sabotage each other at the expense of the rest of us.

By the way, how do u feel about Trump allowing the media to goad him, and Repubs. into doing EXACTLY what the Dems did? A cobbled together piece of shit.
The result of back room deals, and under the table bribes just to get Repubs. to get on board.

We should repeal the military and let people who want to wage imperialist wars just buy private. We should repeal all the bailout money that went to the richest capitalists. We should repeal private schools raiding the public school fund. We should repeal all the stadium deals where rich capitalists looted public funds to build their stadiums. We should repeal the tax cuts that rich people gave themselves after raping the shit out of workers and looting the public till. We should repeal all the public funding that goes to the criminal NSA and CIA. We should repeal all the pensions and fantastic benefit packages that go to rich, scumbag, capitalist politicians after they leave office.

There's a lot of repealing to be done. But right-wingers only interest is in repealing anything that might benefit the underclass so that a tiny gaggle of gangster-capitalist one-percenters can get a lot richer.

Obamacare sucks, triple the price used to pay to get a bunch of benefits that'll never will be used. Obamacare is pure and simple a welfare program. I don't have a problem with that as long as it's called what it is and funded as such, instead of making everyone in society pay for everyone else's shit.

Just repeal the Obamacare law. Leave it place, and put a deadline on coming up with a new plan. That will force both sides to participate in the process of writing new legislation.

The Dems are, I don't know what they are. The resistance party they say, but I'm not sure what that actually means. They acknowledge as well Obamacare is fundamentally flawed but because of what...they just choose sit on the sideline. Why do even pay people who say out loud they intend to do nothing but b*tch?

Conservatives want the working-class to work. And they want them to work hard and cheap. On the other hand, they don't believe gangster-capitalists should work at all. They believe that all the wealth produced by workers should be redistributed to lazy, capitalist parasites.

bullshit, companies go bankrupt everyday and new companies like Faceback come out of nowhere everyday as well. Free market capitalism has always been and continues to be a dynamic free enterprise system.

Did you hear today Walmart has a conscious effort now to buy American made goods? Except for fresh produce, go into a Walmart store today and just try to find a product made in the USA.

Get your head out your a** Condor. You won't your a progressive liberal, aka Communist, who thinks Gov't is best qualified to make every decision in your life for you as you wish to abdicate any responsibility for your own damn self. That's not America dude.

Communism, throughout human history, has produced the greatest poverty and suffering of the people, the world has ever known.

The democrats don't need to work with the republicans (the republicans have not invited them to do so either) they have the majority....They did not take a vote due to the republicans that would have voted NO. They saw the republican disaster. With a gloomy forecast from the budget office, AARP, and other medical associations, and the beating they are taking from their own constituents....it would be political suicide.....and McConnell knew it.

Yes Trump is president, we get that.

But don't blame the inability to get this passed on the democrats.

It was your party that couldn't provide the yes votes to even take a vote.

And that is fact.

Only Democrats voted for OBLOWMACARE! They own it! We should just allow it to die on its own. But that would mean that possibly Millions of people would not have any options
available to them. The CBO was was off with their original projection of how many people would be covered in the first place.
70% of Americans didn't want Obamacare passed in the first place!

The thread isn't about Obama care. Currently many are covered, granted through subsidies and Medicaid expansion (yes, including nursing homes), but nonetheless many remain currently covered.

The FACT I was making in accord with the title of the thread is that it is the republicans that are stopping even an initial vote on the bill.

It's not just the CBO to take into consideration, AARP too. It creates an "age tax"

the American Medical Association is against it too:

“While we agree there are problems with the [Affordable Care Act] that must be addressed, we cannot support the AHCA as drafted because of the expected decline in health insurance coverage and the potential harm it would cause to vulnerable patient populations,” the letter read.

The AMA also expressed its opposition to Trumpcare’s rolling back of state Medicaid expansion that was included in the Affordable Care Act. With Medicaid expansion, 11 million people, mainly poor and elderly, received healthcare.

jeepers, if you want it so badly simply because it gets rid of the mandate, maybe they should just do that. Just facts.

You haven't addressed the FACT your own republicans don't want it.

Be civilized, subsidies, mandates, mandates for employers with fines associated for not providing health care, penalties for not being insured, staying on parents health care plans till 26, these things are REPUBLICAN PLANS.

The ACA was from a republican think tank, even Romney put them officially in place in his state in 2006.

The ACA was borrowed from this thinking and remains one of the main reasons it is having a hard time replacing it..........they didn't like the Obama name on it so they had a fit and promised a replacement.

It was a republican think tank ingenuity endeavor to begin with.

and they wonder as they wonder why it's so hard....( a subtle compliment )

The Jackson Sun...............

Republican President Richard Nixon was way ahead of the health care curb when in the mid-1970s he wanted big employers to provide coverage for all employees or run the risk of being fined. Nixon wanted to devise a program that would cover the poor and even pay subsidies to small business and low income individuals. The Democrats of the day wanted Medicare and Social Security involvement in such a plan, and the idea ended up on the ash heap of politics instead. Fast forward 30 years, Republican Gov. Mitt Romney dusted off Nixon’s program and made it the law of Massachusetts land. The idea of all Americans having universal health care was so good to Republicans that they wanted more. In 1989, Stuart M. Butler, of the conservative Heritage Foundation, came up with the idea of the “individual mandate” requiring all households to have health insurance. Republicans like Newt Gingrich and Orin Hatch were jumping up and down with glee and when Gov. Romney implemented the individual mandate in his state, he gave credit where credit was due: To the Heritage Foundation and Newt Gingrich.

Only 10 Million are even enrolled in Oblomacare.
I don't care what Romney did in Mass.
Still the dems own this mess. Once again the Republicans have to come in and clean up all the shit that was left by the dems!

the Republicans were the first to institute it, even if only through one state.

it's like supervising a program, working out the kinks, watching someone else implement it, and then repealing it because they did.

and everyone wonders why they cannot come up with a suitable plan.

The employer mandate under Obamacare required insurance to be provided when there are 50 plus employees.

The employer mandate under Romneycare ( the first republican plan applauded by the right) required insurance to be provided when there are 11 plus employees. ( another subtle complement )

The Federal Government has no constitutional authority to control health care. And the majority of us who voted for Trump want ObamaCare repealed in its entirety. That’s what we want, and we will be satisfied with nothing less.

But there are too many Freemasons in positions of power and influence in both houses of Congress in BOTH political Parties, and their Illuminati grand masters are pulling their strings, which is why they will not repeal ObamaCare. These puppets controlled by the hidden hand of the Illuminati never intend to repeal ObamaCare, because that is what their Illuminati grand masters want and because they have ordered them not to. Freemasons are sworn to obey their Masonic masters under pain of death and to hold their Masonic oath above all other oaths, and to favor other Freemasons over non-Freemasons, and they form an unseen Government within the Government that is controlled by the hidden hand of Freemasonry. They are part of the Deep State, the Shadow Government that is controlling the Federal Government today. Until we get the Freemasons out of Government, we will never get our Government back, for they represent, not the people who voted them into power, but their Masonic grand masters.

Café, what repealing Obamacare in total will do, who agree Obamacare is fundamentally flawed, will force them back to the table. If they actually give a shit about their constituencies more than they give a shit above themselves.

Then lets call it a day.

Bernie Sanders and Lizzy Warren, would absolutely love it for the Gov't to pay $200,000 for your kid to study basket weaving. They feel it's a worthwhile cause that an individual should not have to pay for themself.

Jeannie, you say in protest to "Hotone": “Would someone turn off this guys electricity, clean water, gas, and remove his transportation on public roads?’

Is any of this, other than public roads, and, in some cases, water, paid for by taxes? In fact, in most cases, you pay for the electricity and natural gas utility companies provide you, and are then taxed by the government for the electricity and gas you purchase on top of this. The utility companies are often taxed on top of this, a cost that is passed along to their customers as a hidden tax. These taxes do nothing to help you acquire your electricity and gas, it hinders it by increasing the effective cost of the product.

In some cases water is provided by co-ops, as it is where I live (the electric company where I live is also a co-op). And in the case of public roads, much of the money collected as taxes on gasoline to maintain roads is siphoned off for other things. The taxes on gasoline are actually greater than the profit the oil company makes on the sale of the gasoline, and then the government arrogantly turns around and calls the oil company “greedy”. And in regards to water, in almost all cases, the government in the US mandates that poisons, such as chlorine and fluorine, be put in the drinking water, which is illegal in Europe by the way. Harming peoples health with poisons can hardly be considered a government "service".

In any case, you are saying that since the Government provides some things, it should provide health care too. But that does not follow. Should the government provide everything? Should the Federal Government ignore the Constitution that limits its authority to what is explicitly listed in the Constitution, reserving all other authority to the states and the people? Is the Constitution, which is the fundamental law of the land, such a pain in the a** that we have to ignore it? Do States and citizens have no rights?

Have I no right to provide my own health care and to medicate myself with effective natural remedies that actually—shock of all shocks—actually cure maladies? Have I no right to provide my own water from a well? Have I no right to provide my own off the grid electric power? Have I no right to breathe without being accused of contributing to man-made global warming and being charged a carbon tax? Have I no rights in this “land of the free”? Hopefully, President Trump will clean this mess up and return us to Constitutional Government.

Louie

some of us require heating our homes. If your living off the grid with a wood burner, isn't it nice to know that 'just in case' you've got fire-fighter protection...don't forget the police for those circumstances in which they need to be called, and since we have laws for safety that correctional facility is for our benefit. (another topic)

Sewer lines, pipes and grids have to be maintained, also the facilities from which they operate such as where your clean water comes from.

Want to obtain your water from a well? good, wish everyone could.

Tax dollars benefit YOU more than you realize.

for a gent your age sometimes you really are ridiculous.

Obama, was a corporatist. He just simply installed Romney care which is really a right wing healthcare system written by the insurance companies and big pharma.

Personally I kind of hope the senate passes their draconian no-health care bill. It will piss people off so much that single payer will become a reality the following election cycle.

Nole, Obama was a Marxist and a Muslim, and there is nothing “right wing” about that—Marxism, nor is there anything “right-wing” about socialism, including socialist health care, it’s as left as you can get. But you know that already. Leftists use deceit, lies, to get their way, and that is what you are doing here. The Democrats did not want Obama Care either, that is why Obama had to use bribes and threats to force it through. Obama, and Soros, wanted it as part of a strategy to take America down. Obama, you know, was not an American citizen, he was an illegal alien born in Kenya, and he hated America, an Illuminati post turtle with the assigned mission of bringing America down. Were it not for the election of President Trump, America already would have fallen.

Would I be pissed off if Obama Care is repealed as Trump promised, along with the trillion dollars in new taxes that it contains? No. I know you would be because you are as far left as you can get, and you won’t be happy until our private health care system, or what is left of it, is dead and buried forever. But America CANNOT be great again until the Federal Government gets out of our business and freedom is restored.

This nation is a Constitutional Republic, and it must return to the Constitution, if it is to be great again.

Oh, is that why he took 400k for speaking to Goldman Sachs bankers? Is that why he tried to pass the TPP? Is that why he chose to bail out the banks and not break them up while allowing those same bankers to kick people out of their homes during the worst economic crisis since the great depression? Is that why he made the Bush tax cuts to the rich permanent?

Dude, you've lost your effing mind. Still helping to make Alex Jones richer I see.

Nole, you say to Obama being a Marxist and a Muslim: “Oh, is that why he took 400k for speaking to Goldman Sachs bankers? Is that why he tried to pass the TPP? Is that why he chose to bail out the banks and not break them up while allowing those same bankers to kick people out of their homes during the worst economic crisis since the great depression? Is that why he made the Bush tax cuts to the rich permanent?”

Nole, you can go to YouTube videos and watch and listen to Obama admit that he is a Muslim, and that he was born in Kenya. You are arguing with the man himself. Before he ran for President he proudly bragged about all this, but when he began his run for President, he was told to keep his mouth shut. Now who are you going to believe, Obama when he had nothing to lose by telling the truth about his religion and his place of birth, or Obama when he had everything to lose by admitting it?

Let me guess Nole, you have never had to earn your living as a police detective, a medical diagnostician, an auto mechanic, an electronics technician, or any other job where you had to determine what’s wrong or who done it. Right Nole? If I had to guess, your job had more to do with deceiving people than anything else. Maybe you worked for a Liberal politician or were one yourself? Just a guess. If you were any of the other things I listed, you probably got fired for incompetence, or, realizing that you were in over your head, just threw up your hands and quite in frustration. Right Nole?

Let me explain it to you Nole. The Satan worshiping Illuminati, which are ultra wealthy apostate Jews, the Banksters, are allies with the Allah worshiping Muslims. Allah is the ancient Babylonian “god of destruction”, a demon under Satan, the King of Hell; he is part of the army of Satan. And they are part of the Secret Compact against God and his Church, and are united in their war against God and his Church. They are also both united against Israel. Now do you understand? They are working together. And it was the Illuminati that financed the Russian Revolution in 1917, which overthrew the Catholic government of Russia and began a series of bloody Marxist revolutions around the world, fifth columns, which have been responsible for the deaths of almost one billion people to date both in and out of Russia.

Obama is an Illuminati puppet and post turtle who was put into his position with the mission of destroying America from within and turning American sovereignty over to a One World Government controlled by Illuminati elites during his term. And if he failed to accomplish his mission in the allotted time, Hillary Clinton was their choice to complete the mission. But Trump, who is not a member of a secret society (sworn to obey his Masonic and Illuminati masters), messed up their plan. Messed it up good. Which is why they are in total panic today.

Oh Louie. I've been an I.T. professional most of my career. Quit with the Alex Jones crap. Obama was a corporatist and a liar. Outside of posing as being politically correct he and Bill did as much to hurt the middle class as any republican.

I think you listen to Alex Jones because he tells you what you want to hear. He mixes a smidgen of truth with a lot of lies to make the lies not sound so much like lies.

The illuminati were a group of "enlightened and progressive" intellectuals in 18th century Germany/Austria. The aristocracy saw them as a threat and they were summarily executed. Wiped out. The illuminati doesn't exist and hasn't for over 200 years.

That being said, we do have an oligarchy where a small group of people own 90% of the wealth and control most industries and have all but bought off Congress and most state legislatures. All except for a few liberty democrats like Bernie and Tulsi Gabbard.

I will tell you that youtube shows like Jimmy Dore and The Humanist Report are about as close to the hard core truth as anything I've heard or read. Chris Hedges and Dr. Cornell West are pretty spot on as well. The question you have to ask is are you willing to go out of your comfort zone enough to search for the real truth? I have. I've listened to about everyone and everything there is out there. Around the time of the 2nd Gulf War I avidly watched FoxNews. I even watched Alex Jones info wars stuff for a while.

I highly doubt that you have done the same as far as checking out every available opinion, website, and youtube shows. Because of this you fell prey to hacks like Alex Jones. Please, for your own sake, check out other opposing sources on the web and youtube and do it with an open mind and a sincere desire for the truth and then you will find it.
