I have a theory that most people wear eye glasses or contacts. I used to wear contacts but they started to damage my eyes. I have to wear glasses to drive or see at a distance. How about you all?

I have just started needing "readers". It is an adjustment. I'm not complaining though. I made it longer than any of my friends.

Good morning rubyrose (I love the nickname  ) 
I have a theory that most people wear eye glasses or contacts. I used to wear contacts but they started to damage my eyes. I have to wear glasses to drive or see at a distance. How about you all?
I have needed to use reading glasses for about 5 years now.. I have perfect vision for distance.. but reading the small prints and phones etc... I need help..
I have actually inquired, already, about laser surgery cause it is really annoying always putting on the glasses to read some of the small print, but was told not to have ti done YET!

Ms I have no problem reading, or seeing anything close, so I don't put on glasses most of the time. It looks like I always needed them for distance tho. I remember the first time I got glasses in my early 20's, I was so amazed at how different even stars looked.

just the opposite from me.. LOL
I bought a new conditioner the other day and when I hopped into the shower to use it, I couldn't even read the instructions.. (don't wear my glasses when I bathe ) it was so annoying..

Had lasik a few yrs ago to fix reading at computer distance, and partial far vision -- used glasses for driving. I had worn contacts for years, but my eyes were getting too dry.
Just lately I have to use readers for computer and closer, and glasses for distance only at night.
Surgeon said our nearsightedness improves as we age, which, woo hoo  , finally happened. ::

I'm near-sighted and wear trifocals. I keep a magnifying glass in my desk at work. It really comes in handy.

I have good eyesight. I don't need glasses. I have met old people over 60, & they have good eyesight. They can see well. They don't need glasses.

I am supposed to wear glasses when I drive, but that's because as a CDL holder I have to have 20/20 vision or better.
But I don't really need glasses!!!
In real life you don't need to be able to read that small letters!!
My glasses actually bothering me when I look down to my gauges, or at the GPS.

I started wearing glasses for distance seeing(in class mostly) during college. I then got talked into trying contacts by the ophthalmologist. But I have an astigmatism. So I was prescribed these new soft/hard lenses called Saturns. Glass in the middle with a soft plastic skirt around them. All they did was make my eyes tear up like I was about to bust out weeping. Went back to my glasses. Those Saturn lenses never made it to prime time as a viable option for folks like me.

I've thought about getting laser surgery but I doubt I'll have it done so long as I'm a carpenter. With my specs always on, I don't have to worry about protective eyewear.
Though I did once get a tiny cedar splinter in my eyeball once. HURT!!!
