Last week, in the sweltering D.C. summer humidity, a handful of political reporters said that they were not permitted to enter the House lobby because they were wearing sleeveless shirts or dresses.
House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) said in a press conference on Thursday that he will be updating the dress code to be “modernized.”
“A dress code in the chamber and in the lobby makes sense,” he said. “But we also don’t need to bar otherwise accepted contemporary business attire. Look for a change on that soon.”
In the meantime, however, women of Congress wanted to make their thoughts on the matter known.
Representative Jackie Speier (D-Ca.) tweeted on Thursday afternoon that she would be sporting a sleeveless dress on Friday, and encouraged her colleagues to do the same.
She dubbed the event “Sleeveless Friday” for the very simple reason that “women have the right to bare arms.”
Sure enough, her fellow Congresswomen came through. Representatives from all over the country took part in the initiative, calling out Ryan and the outdated dress code:

Come around on the issue? I haven't cared what people wear since... Ever.
As a guy I have a biased preference that Ivanka wear less and droopy chicken wing lady Joan Walsh wear more, but it's hardly abnormal for men or women to prefer ugly people wear more clothes than attractive people.
I also have some sense of decorum. I thought Ivanka's dress was perfectly appropriate. I thought it was inappropriate for the Obama girls to show up at a press conference in sweats with bed head.
However, I care more about the weather and what to have for breakfast. So downgrade the Obama kids to PJs, throw a pants suit on Ivanka, and put Joan walsh on the cover of Playboy. I DON'T CARE!

Recently (!!!) there has been an ongoing investigation into why when a hockey player gets a. concussion it's not treated as seriously as a concussion from a football player.
That sounds very hypocritical & because a. concussion is a concussion.
Hockey is actually one of the sports that take a concussion very very seriously. A number of great players have had their careers ended early due to concussions. Now, the rules are you don't play until you are fit for full contact practice, which can take months depending on the severity of the concussion. Things have definitely gotten better, especially with the rule changes regarding hits to the head.
Unfortunately I think the numbers of concussion will only rise. These guys are faster and stronger than ever, and I can't see how anyone can really stop a concussion when the impact of some checks are the equivalent of a 50mph car accident.

So let me get this straight. Joan Walsh wants Ivanka to wear a pants suit while she goes sleeveless and shows off her flabby chicken wings.
