Major Arrest Made, Top Democrats Are Worried
July 26, 2017
BREAKING: Major Arrest Made, Top Democrats Are Worried
In March, a handful of former Democratic Congressional technology aides were banned from the congressional network for data theft. The report raised many questions about their connection to former Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Shultz and why they did not want authorities to analyze their servers.
Will the Real Imran Awan Please Stand Up
This week, Imran Awan, one of the House IT staffers, was arrested by federal officials and charged with bank fraud after he tried to flee the country back to Pakistan.
Innocent people don’t flee
U.S. Capitol Police, FBI, and Customs and Border Protection were involved in the arrest of Imran Awan at Dulles International Airport on Monday, according to Fox News. Awan was about to board a flight to Pakistan.

Awan pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to one count of bank fraud during his arraignment in Washington, D.C., and was released but will be required to wear a GPS ankle monitor and abide by a curfew.
He was forced to turn over all of his passports ahead of his preliminary hearing, which is scheduled for Aug. 21.
Awan’s wife, Hina Alvi, and their children have already returned to Pakistan. Politico reports that “federal agents do not believe Alvi has any intention of returning to the U.S., according to a court document.”
The backstory
Awan began working for former Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz — a Hillary Clinton confidant who surreptitiously promoted Clinton over Bernie Sanders in the 2016 primaries — in late 2005.
His wife, his two brothers, and his brothers wife also appeared on the payrolls of several House Democrats for several years, collecting more than $4 million since 2010.
Awan’s arrest for bank fraud still leaves many questions surrounding data theft and breaching security networks. The four aides had access to dozens of emails from members of Congress, as well as all of the documents they were storing on the servers.
Court documents showed that the brothers also ran a side business that owed $100,000 to a fugitive from Iran with ties to the terrorist organization from Hezbollah.
Awan’s connections to top Democrats worried others
Many in the Democratic IT sphere were skeptical of the four aides, adding that their loyalty to certain Democrats coupled with how much they were being paid should have set off many red flags.
Congressional aides told the Daily Signal in May that they wonder if the suspects are blackmailing Democratic members with the contents of their files and emails.
“I don’t know what they have, but they have something on someone. It’s been months at this point without any arrests or charges,” said Pat Sowers, a former IT manager who worked in Congressional offices for more than a decade.

The plot thickened in May when when Democrat Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz threatened the U.S. Capitol Police chief with “consequences” for refusing to return equipment that she claimed belonged to her, adding that the chief was only holding the equipment to build a criminal case against Awan.
Awan’s arrest is potentially the tip of the iceberg. It’s troublesome to ponder why Wasserman-Shultz is afraid of the servers being analyzed by authorities or members of Congress. Given the DNC claimed they were hacked in 2016, shouldn’t they want help from investigators on the issue?
What are Democrats covering up between Wasserman-Shultz, Awan, and his relatives?

May, is also the timeframe of
Beranton Whisenant's body, washing
up on the beach near Wasserman's
house.
Wasn't Whisenant scheduled to give
statements to investigators, in regard
to Wasserman's criminal activities?
