We travel for fun, relaxation, work and need. Do we also travel to learn "hands on" about other cultures and to discover how different / similar people are?

That's my only reason for traveling. Wherever I go - I seek out something unique about the location, get to know the locals and totally enjoy it. I recently went to Owosso, Michigan for a wedding. Owosso - where in the heck is that is what I thought. But you'd be surprised just how many famous people were born and/or lived in that area. I discovered some tantilizing and intersting things about the City.

Thanks for bringing this subject up! You share my passion.

Thanks. I love to travel and I am trying to get my students to do so as "The end of the class". I am sure they will learn in one week overseas a lot more than in six month in a classroom.

Where have you traveled?

I agree with you on that. Additionally, I learned how fortunate I am here in the US - I mean sure we have our issues but traveling abroad made me appreciate some of the little things more.

I've been to Ireland, Germany, Hungary, Austria, Czech, Italy, Jamaica, Honduras, Bahamas, Several places in Mexico, Belize, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, Hawaii, California, Washington, Washington DC, New Orleans, Texas, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, West Virginia, Michigan, Ohio, I know I'm missing a bunch....

I guess I earned my DH name? hahahahaha....

I travel to live life. To experience life. I love to meet and interact with the locals in places I visit. I try to visit the less known parts of the world, and even in the known parts I attempt to find the hidden corners that are not part of the tourist world.

I find more interest in travel outside the US, but even the different places I have been here can expose one to different ideas, cultures and lifestyles.

I travel for many reasons.

To see other places and cultures, the experiance life as others around the world do, to share a bit of my knowledge (through education and healthcare), to challange myself in unique environments and landscapes.

Part of the reason I travel is to find my place in the world. My family is spread out all over and I have lived in many places, so I don't feel that I really belong in one spot.

If I could kick up my heels and spend the rest of my life traveling I would be more than happy to do so.

I travel to expieriance life, so many things to see! It is amazing to see the different mind sets, what they feel is important, and basic values. But mostly to see the land! There are such beautiful places out there, and life being so short, I just want to see as much as possible.
