I am definitely going to a class reunion in Bavaria at the end of July / beginning of August. After that, for almost three weeks, I have nothing planned yet.
I am planning to return about August 19 but could stay a bit longer.
Right now, I am interested in finding some travel companion/s, m/f, we could plan either renting a car and driving to different areas of Germany, Austria or other countries or settle down at a warm place in Italy, Lake of Garda, Cicily, anywhere else on the Mediterranean, and get there by train or even bus, whatever, even become part of a travel group although I would probably only do this if I were to wind up completely by myself. For the moment I am just beginning to plan. I speak several languages, and so communication should be easy. I am also a fairly well-versed traveler and can read train timetables.
Flights to Europe for that period of time are expensive but the travel industry is not doing so well, so experts are expecting prices to drop or at least special offers to be available. I will not book until some time after the beginning of March, unless a particularly attractive offer happens to pop up after the cheap winter sales end. For travel in Europa, a Eurail pass is generally a good deal but there are often other offers for reduced train fare.
Is anyone interested in going as partner or in a group?

I won't post a "yes" yet but I'll watch your thread. 'Couldn't commit to three weeks though! I may be interested if another trip doesn't pan out. (Might do something with my sons and grand-daughter!)

Sounds good, I have traveled by myself, but it's so much more fun with someone (or more) along (not too many though). I am looking forward to it. Doris
