When you take it to the techs, be prepared to be taken to the cleaners while not necessarily fix the problem at the same time, so it wouldn't hurt to be prepared.
It didn't happen again this winter, knock on the wood. So I guess I'll put the matter to rest for now.

Instead of getting bit fixed you could buy a new car instead, or maybe another used car that could have the same problems when you don't take proper care of it.

if there is an auto zone in your area they do diagnostics for free. The check engine light has to be on tho.

I see that others have tried..The one thing they have missed is complaint of apperant lack of power...Symtoms like you are experiancing show a relation to the ignition system..The fact that the restarts is anindication..A slightly warned engine will run with a weak spark.You'll need an ohm meter to find if that is the problem.Looking forward to seeing the out come..

2003????? Nothing runs forever. ALL vehicles have sensors to tell the computer how to make its adjustments--your car probably has a few sensors that are in need of repair--and only a dealer with the PROPER diagnostics can check everything from top to bottom--front to back. I could go on and on for hours--like evryone else--but ---are you ready for this???---GO TO THE DEALER AND GIVE THEM THE CAR----IT NEEDS WORK. Stalling and check engine lights are a clue---cold weather---going to work---are when these problems happen. RED LIGHTS??? Don't stop--just kidding. ANY car is only as good as the maintenance it receives. get it to the dealer NOW--thats an order!!!

Good luck honey! I have a 01 Isuzu Rodeo that does the same thing.
It doesn't do any good to put it in neutral it will still quit.

its not your fluids i have worked on cars for almost 20 years now it sounds like a bad sensor could be a crank sensor cam sensor throttle position sensor or 02 sensor the only way to find out is to have it scanned and get the code go to autozone or pep boys they do it for free get the code from them it will start with a p0 then a number dont have them fix it get me the code ill tell you whats wrong with it ask them at autozone for the printout for the code
