You're doing pretty good blogging so far. All you gotta know is how to think and type, so that kind of makes it nice. As for me, I've suffered clinical depression my whole life(runs in the family) but a few years ago it turned into bipolar disorder so it started veering from not being able to get out of bed all day to having so much energy i couldn't think straight and ended up doing some pretty stupid stuff. I always thought it was a matter of having the right attitude and focus(that's what everyone else would say) and felt like I just wasn't tough enough to control my thoughts or emotions. But then I hit my own rock bottom(won't go into details on that LOL) and finally got the help I needed and realized that those disorders are a hell of alot tougher than ANYONE who's not getting the right treatment, regardless of what someone who's never had them tells you. So now I'm on meds and avoiding all the stress that triggered my episodes and I'm feeling really good now-I'm working toward the career I've always wanted and stopped all the dumb sh*t. There'll always be ups and downs(or in some cases, just downs) but if you find the medication and lifestyle that's right for you, then they won't be as extreme and you'll be able to re-enter the world of the living.

Hello,
I am new to this site. I have muscular dystrophy and learned in October that I have a beign brain tumor. I also am suffering from depression right now as my husband left a couple of weeks ago. I just learned of the brain tumor after my house burned down in September. I started having headaches and they did a CAT scan and found the tumor. My blood pressure has been going haywire too as I had surgery on the 14th and they said that I became hypertensive during surgery but my blood pressure has been going haywire for a while now.

I have epilepsy caused by a genetic disease (tuberous sclerosis). I had a temporal lobectomy 3 years ago and got the vagul nerve stimulator 2 years ago. They've done a lot for me and I'd do them all over again. I still have a few seizures but nothing like I used to. Unfortunately the surgeries don't help all people but I happened to get lucky and I'm very greatful for it.

Boy do i know about the struggles of having a disability. Was struck with the bipolar gene back in 1985 after my husband had 3 affairs and then walked out. Funny how people don't want to be around you when you suffer with a mental illness. I have been on meds since i was diagnoised back then. working well for me..have shared with a few people whom i have grown close friendships with me and they say "wow i find it hared to belive you have a mental illness" gee if they only knew what i grow threw when the depression hits and manics cycles hit...they are just awfull. but i just keep pluging along. and yes I feel there are alot of narrow mined men out there whom don't want to date such a woman as myself. so i am learning to be content with me and my dog.

I've had Multiple Sclerosis for over 15 years. I keep myself as active as I can and it is hard to notice by looking at me. About 5 years ago I developed Chronic Fatigue Syndrome which my 33 year old daughter (she is an educated CPA) believes is from the pills I take for the MS. She says if I didn't take pain pills, I wouldn't have CFS. It is tough when one's children will not acknowledsge my disabilities. I am on Social Secuity Disability. I stay pretty active except when the fatigue sets in (almost daily). Driving is kept to a minimum since I have totaled 2 cars. I do though play violin in 2 local orchestras. My prayers go out to all of you. I'd like to find a man who will love me inspite of my disabilities. Is it possible?

I had a stroke leaving my right side of my face numb. they want me to go to the mayo clinic they know there is other things going on just not sure what it is. I've had my apendix taken out twice yeah 1 in a million chance the remander of your apendix can get infected after being taken out. well 6 yrs later it happend to me. I always stay head strong the best I can I've been called a liar and have been disowned buy many people they once thought fibromyalga was in your head and we are all crazy. I had seen a crazy doctor for 6months I'm fine no mental problems I suffer from depression from having fibro well I try my best but it can get hard not being able to work and depend on others I never had these problems before. I've had fibro for 6yrs I'm of course getting worse but I'm very strong minded and always try try and try again. I'm going to school soon so I can try to find a job that I can make a lot of $ but not have the heavy labor. I stoped taking all my meds cause of no insurance it got to expensive I was on 7 differnt meds.hope obama can help us americans and as for a cure for fibro there is none they know very little about it as it is

i must confess im a lil nervous posting here, but i am in need of a change in my life preferably a positive 1 and this type of forum seems to possibly be a useful tool to help start such a change.... so here goes

im 40 im a spinal injury cervical fusion 4,5 and 6. needless to say i was terrible patient as i kept telling the dr "i dont think a cervix belongs there" but i needed it so i could learn to walk again...

i have found that my humour is the only thing that keeps me going sometimes and i refuse to lay in bed all day and piss and moan. i thought id use this forum not as a place to find love but as a place to connect with others who know how tough it is to deal with the everyday pressures and stress of overcoming a physical challenge. hopefully i can make a few smile and heaven forbid even laugh and share the war stories to see how others cope. btw i dont consider the nerve damage and restrictions of movement a disability. i consider them to be a part of who i am. im no don jaun, im not rich or the greatest looking guy in the world not even the smartest but everynight when i look in the mirror i know im ok sleeping because im ok with the person that i became because of the injury... that and i was a wild child probably would had been killed if not for my accident...

anyways i hope this letter finds who ever reads it in good health and maybe brought you a smile

I have broken arches from an accident at a previous job but it took years to degenerate this bad. The doctor said that the muscle straps that hold my arches up have completely discentigrated. I had re-constructive surgery on the right foot with 3 added screws (1 of which broke and is still there). I couldn't get the other foot done the next year as originally planned because that's when my husband decided to leave me for a MUCH younger woman. On top of that I have Osteoporosis (thanks grandma), OsteoArthritis in my thumbs, degenerative arthritis in my neck and lower back. Stress and depression is running rampant in my life and to end all that I had 2 mini strokes last summer. It's only a matter of time when I will have that major one that will put me out of the game altogether. Oh, I forgot, I also had rotarycuff surgery in 07 that is coming back to haunt me now (if you have had that surgery, you need to exercise that arm all the time or it gets weak).

I have trouble talking. I have always had trouble talking and breathing since I was born and now I feel like I should keep my mouth shut because people won't understand what I say because of how I talk. When I was born I had about 4 or 5 heart surguries. Everyone in both of my families thought that I wouldn't live very long. Yes I am adopted. I'm glad that I'm alive today.Someday I want to find a guy that can understand that and be there for me everyday and I will be there for that person also. i have epilepsy, depression, and high anxiety. having epilepsy sucks, but i'm very thankful that i do not have them all the time, they just come randomly. i went 3.5 yrs without having one then a mth ago i had one. i was driving too, i was lucky i was slowing down for a red light i guess i hit the guy infront of me. i'm glad someone was infront of me or i don't konw what would have happened. Now that i joined this place since i can't drive for 6mths it's hard to meet people, espically since all my friends are either married, have bf or live to far. So i don't get out much, plus i don't want strangers to know where i live when i first meet them. It's not like i can tell my parents oh by the way can u drive me so and so cause i wanted to meet this guy i was talking to online. i don't think my parents would go for that

I have some disc degeneration at L4-L5. To many years of being a human forklift. Slows me down some, & occassional pain. I exercise regularly, eat healthy, go to a chiropractor & acupuncturist as needed, usually monthly. Go to naturopath doctor every other year or less. I stay away from 2nd class medical doctors. I have some hearing loss too. Noisy machinery. I farm 640 acres, run a few cows, garden, can a lot of my own food, drink raw milk, eat my own hormone, drug free grass fattened beef. I often sit on a tractor 10-12 hours a day, get off a few times a day to stretch & walk around. Build fence, go dancing, walk some. Life is good.
I would urge all of you to check out the Weston A. Price Foundation at www.westonaprice.org. They put out a excellent quarterly magazine, & can help you learn to lead a healthy lifestyle. Also a excellent book called "Genetics for the Mineral Code" by Charles Walter which is available fron Acres USA. Tells about the different minerals, how they interact, what foods contain them & much more.
The industrial agribusiness corporations of today manufacture unhealthy poison food. Drug companies want to get you hooked for life. The FDA is sold out to the drug & industrial food companies and others. Find your own local small farmer & get to know s/he. Buy all the food you can locally. Stay away from GMO's.
You all are inspiring, good people. Feel free to contact me about eating healthy & I will gladly help if I can. Wade

um well mine is i have multiple sclerosis, was diagnoised 10 yrs ago. also i had and accident that left me with nerve damage to left side of my body and caused me to have to have l4, l5 s1 surgery now i have rods in my lower back , have tried surgery to ulner nerve in left arm didnt help much still no feeling in left little finger or ring finger , and nerve damage has gotten so bad i have at times no feeling from neck down to feet on left side. from time to time it also caused me to feel like my skin is sensitive ( hurts when someone lays a hand on my arm shoulder , or kids hug me...) one of my most hated symptoms of ms is the untolerable constant itch , slurred speach, and tremors. ( no fun drinking coffee when ya end up wearing it lol)... walking is still doable but with aid of cane, walker or crutches... memory loss is a pain too( damn where did i put my keys) I fought with slight depression when first diagnoised but have learned to over come and laught at myself when i have those moments...

Hope i havent bored anyone as of yet.. I have a tendencey to ramble on and on on on on... I'm here if anyone needs a shoulder to cry on or someone to listen too....

Hi my disability is epilepsy
i have had seizures since I was 8 years olds
Mostly gramma seizures
I had them 24 hours a day in my even in my sleep.
I was over dose by a doctor
this effects my memory some times
I woke one day did't know my parents or who i was.
So they put me in a mental heath hospital and took
me off all of my med.
They put me in touch with VANDERBILT MEDICAL CENTER.
Since my seizures were so bad they ask me to test drugs
for them I said why if it don't help me maybe someone else.
Well I test ten diffrent drugs some past some didn't.
One of the drugs effect a guy eye sight
another bone marrow
I was lucky it effected my weight
One drug took from a 36 waist to a 46 waist.
then another took me back down.
I started to wear supenders.
So affter they ask me to test what they call a
VEGAS NERVE STIMULATER {VNS}
They cut in to my chest and insert it
Then they snake two wires under the skin
to the neck and cut the neck and attach it to
the vegas nerve.
It sends electronic impluses to the nerve on
up to the brain and stop most of my seizures.
This runs in cycles so i can have a seizure between
cycles.
I went everyday to three last year.
Just close a noth i can't get my driver licence.
on the other hand I can't tell when I am going to have one.
Getting tired I hear my bed calling talk with you later.
