I love cruising. Just got back from my 4th one. First one was to Nassau, Freeport and an out island. 2nd was to Alaska (that was great) 3rd was Key West, Cancun , Cozemel and this one was just Key West and Nassau. I went because the fare was cheap and a friend of mine had never cruised and we went with a singles group. I would love to go on an all singles cruise to meet other singles. Have fun and happy sailing !!!

I try to cruise at least once a year. I always do my decade birthdays on a cruise ship.

I think I invented the "Split Cruise" because I have to argue with travel agents to get them to book one for me. They keep saying it can't be done--although I've done it.

You see, the real problem with cruising the Mexican Riviera is that the ship pulls out of port at about 6 pm to keep from paying overnight port charges. Well, the best part of the Mexican Riviera is the night life. Hell, the discos don't even open until 11 pm! I mean cruise ships are fun enough, but partying in Mexico? No comparison!

So, what I do is go down on one ship, get off for a few days, and come back on the same or a sister ship on the next cycle. That way, you don't even miss any ports! If you book it through an agency, you can save enough on the hotel (because it's bundled with transportation) to pay a goodly part of the cruise cost.

This June, I'm meeting my sisters and their families (all on the east coast) in Florida for a 3-4 day cruise to scatter my parent's ashes in the clear waters of the Caribbean. It beats the hell out of a dreary funeral service in some dinky church!

I've been on 2 cruises. . . Went to Alaska and did the train through Denali Park and then boarded the Coral Princess and cruised into Vancover with stops along the way. Jan. '08 cruise was also on the Coral Princess to Aruba, Columbia, Panama Canal, Costa Rica, and Jamaica. Cruises are relaxing and you feel really pampered.

Hey if you like cruises look into tall ships. It's a different side of the whole boat on water thing. There's many tall ships all over America and other countries. The HMS Bounty is one that goes to Europe every couple of years. www.sailtraining.org has a festival in the great lakes and you can hop on a boat and take it from the east coast through the St. Lawrence Seaway into the great lakes. The people who crew on these boats are pretty awesome and you get the slower more natural pace of life. It's quite fun. Look into it and message me if you have questions.

Hi all!
I have been on 9 cruises. 8 were caribbean and one was a Mediterranean to Italy, nice, etc. I like Royal Caribbean the best. Such a nice ship that I went on in 2008, Freedom of the seas. It had a water park (which my son loved!) and miniature golf, ice skating, rock climbing wall, and surf simulator thing (which i didnt get to do) but it was really a beautiful ship! Didnt go on a cruise in 2009, did the resort thing, but hope to again soon!!

LOL. I've been on many cruises... Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), Royal Caribbean Cruise Line (RCCL), Princess, Holland American Line, Carnival, and even Premier (Disney Cruise Line's predecessor). I've loved every one for different reasons.

I cruise for:
- the ports
- the ship
- the pampering
- to relax
- to see multiple places but only unpack once
- to preview places to see if I want to come back for a week or 2
- to try lots of different foods
- the entertainment
- the activities
- the people

But, as much I love them, cruises aren't for everyone. Nor are skiing, bungee jumping, mountain climbing, etc. Aren't we lucky there is so much world to explore in so many different ways?

I think a singles cruise sounds like a blast!

Just got back May 1 from 7 night to Western Carrib on Carnival Liberty

It was fantastic

I have been going on single's cruises for awhile now....affordable and so much fun
not so much "romance" but just friends and people to do things with and yeah sometimes
rocmance LOL

we are having the 3rd Annual Meetup Halloween Cruise again this year at Halloween LOL
on Destiny...4 nights....Key West and Cozumel

also a 3 night to Bahamas on Imagination which is a nice 3 night cruise ...Dec 10

and I am so looking forward to January....Jan 30 7 nights on newly remodled Glory to Nassau, St Thomas and San Juan and Grand Turk (never been to that one)

I am not a travel agent. I use a great one who puts together the singles cruises, she does free roomie matching and also we get a lot of "group perks"...2 free bottles wine per cabin
and 2 group c*cktail parties open bar 1 hour

as a group it is fun cause you can do your own thing but have people to sit with at dinner, to go on excursions with, to go to the shows with etc

I live in South Florida and know a lot of people who cruise a lot more than me. I like Carnival for group cruises as they take good care of groups and are affordable

I know there are "ritzier" lines but Carnival is really good , great food too

Feel free to contact me and chat..thanks

I have used the Vacations To Go site...www.vacationstogo.com

They require a registration I think but it is totally free and only send a email once every few weeks.

Their 90 Ticker has the most discounted cruises and you can easily compare prices.

I have used them for 3 cruises in the last year or so without a single problem.

I've lost count of the cruises I've been on but I think it's around 15 now. My husband and I used to try to go every year. After he passed away, I went on one alone. It was not the same but still enjoyable. I plan on retiring next year and have thought it's time for another one as a gift to myself. Most of the ones I took were to the Eastern Caribbean. Like one of the other posters, we cruised for the ship, not the ports. You can only shop so many times and when in port, you basically have the ships to yourselves. My favorite cruise line is Royal Caribbean but I've also been on Carnival, for a much younger crowd(IMO), Disney and Costa. It's the best vacation you can imagine. You can do almost anything you want or nothing at all, just sit on a deck chair and watch the world go by!

I love to cruise. It's been quite a while since I traveled on Royal Carribean but was on Carnival just this past summer and summer before last. It seemed to me on Carnival (unlike Royal Carribean) you are always waiting in line for something due to the fact everyone wants to get their money's worth of something, whether it's food, entertainment, free ice cream or complimentary coconut shell drinks....always a line and a rush to get ahead of the next couple and forget manners or courtesy..that would be another cruise line. Not to mention, the food and entertainment was under par. These experiences made me a firm believer in you get what you pay for. I highly suggest you research before you book. Happy Cruising.
