Had the Sheriff's Dept check on Rich. They talked to his landlord and said that Rich had a severe heart attack!
According to the landlord he is in Joliet at St. Joe's Hospital, if anyone can get over to see him, or wish him well from all of us back here at DH, that would be great.
Sorry that's all the details they gave me.

You've gotten the news. Thanks Ron. I'm still shaking. Let's see. I went to Seneca and found nothing. Drove all over. Come to find out....well....Rich is Rich and he doesn't live like the rest of us. He's, like out in the country or something.
Ron called and left me the message with Rich's landlords phone number. I called and talked to the landlords wife. Very nice lady. Says Don (the landlord) went up to the hospital and actually saw Rich last thursday. He didn't talk to him as he was heavily sedated. He had a triple bypass. Guess he wasn't feeling well and drove himself to the hospital in Morris. From there, he was transfered to St. Joes. Room 394. Intensive care. I talked to the nurse and she of course could give no information, as I am not family. His family was there during the day today, but had just left the hospital. He has no phone in his room, but I did pass on our concern. The nurse said she would be happy to give him the message. I'm off on thursday and will get up to Joliet first thing in the morning.
Guess that is all I know right now. Wish I had more info to pass along. Keep him in your prayers please. He knows we are thinking about him.
To clarify, I don't know his dispatchers number or I would call. As Ron pointed out, I'll bet they don't know where Rich is either. It was my concern that the dispatcher contacted Rich by phone and if Rich wasn't picking up for me, he probably wasn't picking up for them either. Sorry for the mix up. Some of you thought I had spoken to the dispatcher. I only wish I could.
Anyway.........God Bless and thanks again. Especially to Cat. Forever in your debt for what you did to get the ball rolling.

Well, the real question now is, will he be able to return to work and what are his expenses during recovery, etc.. He apparently has a landlord so doesn't sound like he's very well off. I'm not well off myself so couldn't contribute much but perhaps some thinking along these lines might help, particularly if the family isn't able to do much....

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers for Rich.
His landlord called me yesterday and said it's the same news as the day before. Heavily sedated. They brought him out of it for a 'minute' yesterday but he went right back. Don says he's Xtremely serious. Still in ICU. Guess they've lost him a couple of times during all this.
So, it's pointless to go up to the hospital today. I've got the creepin crude anyway. That's all I need to do, is make him worse then he already is by givin him the flu. I'll call and talk to his family today.
I put a can on the counter yesterday at the store. Between the wonderful customers and my wonderful girls, we've got $27 collected so far. I'll put the can back up tomorrow and see what we can do. Morris' manager was off yesterday so they couldn't do anything. Will give him a call this morning.
I've got Rich's friends name. I'm going to try and call him and see if maybe.....we can get a fund raiser together with his church group and maybe the town of Seneca or Morris. Anybody be interested in getting together in that area for a meet and greet with the DHU crowd?

This sweet man emailed me and said valentines day is for friends as well as lovers and asked if he could send me a card. We have chatted a few times but distance was an issue. But he was my valentine for that day. I thought it was terribly sweet.

Night - that is a truly sweet story...and distance doesn't have to be a factor. How far apart do you live from each other? Shooter and Cincin live I think 5 or 6 hours apart and their love is strong. My guy and I live 1 hr and 20 minutes from each other and we are strong too. Rjs was truly sweet to be your valentine!

This sweet man emailed me and said valentines day is for friends as well as lovers and asked if he could send me a card. We have chatted a few times but distance was an issue. But he was my valentine for that day. I thought it was terribly sweet.
His was the only one I recieved as well. He dropped it off at the store. The crazy guy came in for his regular slice of pizza and to say hello. When I got done that day, I went out to my car and there in a plastic bag was a valentine card from him. It was rainin cats and dogs. He's a good guy.....
