Ya'll wish me a Happy Birthday! It's on Easter Sunday this year. 
We're not having the typical Easter Sunday Dinner this year. The kids told me that I shouldn't have to cook on my birthday, so they asked if they could make me dinner instead. Of course, I said, "Sure!" Then I took the kids shopping... guess what they picked out... it's too cute.... French Toast, scrambled eggs, instant cheese grits, bacon and orange juice. And they bought a carrot cake mix and cream cheese frosting so they could bake me a cake.
When I got home from work tonight, I went to reach into the fridge to get myself a beer and there was a big note on the fridge that said, "MOM! DO NOT LOOK ON THE BOTTOM SHELF!" They baked my cake tonight while I was at work. I didn't look... had to reach in and grab my beer quickly so I wouldn't see the cake....
They're really great kids! I'm so blessed!
I am really missing my oldest son who moved to Minnesota in December. I wish he could be here tomorrow. I'm sure he'll call me tomorrow though... and I guess that will have to be good enough.

Yes, you two really need to stop by here more often. You never know what wonderful thing I might post next! LOL
I have FIVE birthday cakes sitting in my house right now!!! I'm so LOVED!!
The children baked two of them... one for me and one for my son who turned 9 the day after my birthday. Then one of the guys I work with at the grocery store bought me an easter bunny cake because my b'day was on Easter Sunday. That same night, the mgmt team bought me a birthday cake. Then tonight the mgmt team (different from the ones who worked w/ me last night) bought me a cake and sang "Happy Birthday" to me really LOUDLY.. and out of key!
Oh... and my Dad called me to tell me "Happy Easter!" He "claims" that he forgot that it was my birthday... just called to tell me Happy Easter! Maybe you'd have to know my Dad... but it was funny... he ONLY calls me once a year 'cause I'm a Daddy's girl and I call him ALL THE TIME... but he ALWAYS calls me on my b'day!

Happy late birthday to you. You are so blessed!!! To have kids that give from the heart so willingly is a sign that you are a FABULOUS mother!!! You are also so blessed for having a loving father. My parents are both gone now. I would give anything to get to talk you either one of them.

Hi Ocean. Nice to meet you too. You're right, my Dad is a great guy! I'm lucky to have him as my dear 'ole Dad! I still have both my parents. Both of my grandparents - my mother's parents - passed away recently. I miss them, but nothing like I'm sure that their children do. It's been very hard on my Mom and my Aunt; they miss them dearly.
Hope to see you in here often. People don't post much on this forum... trying to get it up and going though. Just need more people! So post away!
