Definitely not rickson, he was fighting people before mma was modernized. At his prime and everyone on this list's prime, none are beating john jones. You might think he is unproven, but unlike these fighters you can't point to a second where he was ever losing a fight. Rua could almost make this list before his defeat and now everyone dismisses him. Jones is the future and in an evolving sport, that's all the logic I need. Nobody from the past can compete today unless they also evolved. Case in point, fedor and grac ies (all)

the spider and st.pierre would be riot.They both have the skills.It would be a hard fight to bt on, knowing any man can be put to sleep, on any given day.All it would take is a blow to temple,sweet spot(jaw),foot to back of neck!!..night night...and spider has some hellauss kicks!!!just stating.

Anderson silva.
He clean out an entire division and moved up to light heavyweight and won there too. I would've said GSP, but he never moved up to in weight and lately, most of his wins come via decision. Anderson silva is a finisher.

I would've said anderson silva but we all saw what sonnen did to him. Doesn't matter that sonnen tested positive for steroids and that he lost but he did expose a major weakness in silvas game. If silva and GSP did a catchweight fight, if have to say GSP by decision. So right now I'd say GSP is the best. Give jonny bones jones a couple more years and no doubt will he be the best that anyones ever seen.
