 I forgot, some of them only want to fight and try to make men seem small with their pointless remarks.( see all of your past posts, you will argue about anything) It was an honest post, the women I have met on here only want to be fed, they don't want to do anything fun or exciting,just food, it makes for a VERY boring time.

I forgot, some of them only want to fight and try to make men seem small with their pointless remarks.( see all of your past posts, you will argue about anything) It was an honest post, the women I have met on here only want to be fed, they don't want to do anything fun or exciting,just food, it makes for a VERY boring time.
Hell---I like to have some fun dammit -----I work at home--usually 10-12hr days--and I haven't had a T.V. since last summer. I am soooo friggin bored.  I would love to go out and do something fun- like play some miniature golf, go to a museum (I've never been to the planetarium yet), see a movie, bowling, the zoo, I love Robbinettes here in town--great cider and donuts and they have the horse drawn hayrides and corn maze now too. I've never been to The Airzoo yet either. I like live music and comedy clubs also. I enjoy watching the Griffins play hockey. Someone told me they have a women's roller derby league in town and evidently it is hilarious. If you take me out to a karaoke club I will get up time and again and sing my lil heart out (yeah baby I'm good) I'll even take on some Aretha Franklin with confidence.  One thing I really like to do this time of year is: grab some good tunes, some good snacks, stuff to drink, get in the car and head out on the back roads-----just see where they take ya. Enjoy the fall colors, good conversation, singing along to great music, flirting like mad. Have a little adventure together, sometimes you end up at the coolest places you never knew about. 
OH---and I have no problemo pitching in $$$ toward the shenanagins sweetie

Nope, thats not it, it seems like the ones I have chosen, have it in their minds thats what you do on a first date.They are drawn to the resturants, I give them their choice of what to do, and they all want to do the same thing, EAT. You are missing the point, I can and do pay for the dates, I can afford much better dates then dinner, thats "NOT" the point, the point is, can't women think of better things to do(when Given their choice) then eat, there has to be more that they are interested in. I know I have just gotten myself in very deep, but come on ladies, try to be more creative, when you are asked what you want to do on your first date.

I do enjoy a nice meal out-- but I also like to do something fun too-- usually before the meal-- even just strolling and window shopping in the mall or something silly like miniature golf or bowling (both very affordable activities) -- you get a chance to check each other out in a casual way and you can keep things light and fun. Then you can talk about that as well as the usual first date conversation.

Sorry, guys.....but we DO love to eat.
However....I am one of those that pays my own way on a first 'meeting'. That way, I can order what I like without feeling 'guilty', or 'obligated'.
I have also met men for miniature golf, bowling, museum trips, walks, coffee, etc.
However...perhaps many would rather get a LOOK at ya before being seen in 'public'. (At dinner....you could be a co-worker, or whatever!). Therefore, if you are 'less than appealing', not everyone will assume you are dating each other.  It's possible.
Restaurants are also public places which is recommended for a first meeting. It's a little more difficult to talk while bowling, or whatever. Heck....you gotta get the first meeting over with, somewhere. But men shouldn't feel that a dinner meeting means 'they have to pay'. Spell that out ahead of time.
If a woman isn't agreeable to a choice of public meeting places, and insists only on dinner.....without offering to pay her own way......you might want to think twice if that bothers you. Chances are, nothing else will be by your choice in the 'relationship', either.

Men put out....they expect us to put out. Some lady friends (I stress the word LADY)
have had bad experiences.
Men, too...have posted their resentment about always having to pay for a bad date.
It's not fair on a first meeting, really.

Good evening everyone. I'd like to add a few words regarding what women want. Personnaly I feel we say we'll meet you for a bite to eat because it's public yet casual and will only last a couple of hours so if things don't go well your both off the hookl quickly. I love to do alot of different things once I get to know someone that doesn't include dinner. Have a great night.

Well goodhearted, with a self defeating attitude like that no wonder you aren't getting dates. Nobody wants to be around a negative person --- you should seriously take some time and look at yourself --- see the beauty in yourself. I think everyone has some aspect of beauty to them-- you need to find it. Learn to accept and even love the package you come in--- work with what you've got. I'm a full figured woman and have grown to accept and embrace who I am--- would I change things about my physical features if I could? Hell yeah---am I going to put life on hold and let opportunities pass me by until I get myself exactly where I want to be??? Hell NO-- I may never get myself to that point and I may just miss out on something wonderful in the meantime. There are many, many men out there that LOVE a full figured woman---men that date plus sized ladies exclusively. I say--look for someone like that--someone that would be proud to be your man. The main thing you need to do is learn to accept and love yourself--get some confidence in what you have to offer. How can you expect someone else to love you when you don't even love yourself-- how can you expect a man that loves you to sit back and hear you downgrade yourself all the time--negate all the things he loves about you??? I tell you-- confidence in and of itself is such an attractive feature to have--confidence will draw people to you. If you feel good about yourself--people will feel good about you and want to be around you.

Gee, I only wanted some creative ideas from the MI. women, but I guess if you are willing to settle for the same OLD boring pendragon type guy, who has turned this post into his own boring idea of a date, then I give up. the feed bag it is. No wonder men turn to younger women, at least they have some ideas to trap us.
p.s. pendragon, it isn't a matter of money, or being cheap, its a matter of pride, to show the ladies the best we can, not be the same old boring thing time after time. Get my drift.

so little do you know... you have so much to learn grasshopper. and the reason I have my profile blocked is to keep riff raff out. I'm not on here to date.. no need to and all my "FRIENDS" know why.
what you also need to learn is the reason that women want to go and eat is because (like one poster already mentioned) it's a safe and neutral place to meet to see if they want to spend time doing other things with you. And like another poster said. Feel lucky that your getting dates.
oh and about the dog remark... he prefer his butt because it reminds him of you "Mr. No picture"

What a great come back, why are you on michigan chat anyway? did they ban you from Indiana chat, for all of your witty remarks? You and miss thing started this whole debate, all I wanted to know was why can't women think of better things to do on a first date. things like a bike ride in a public park, ice skating, a picnic, in a public place, "I know this is eating, but you don't have the noise, and interuptions", fishing on a public pond. All the ladies on here list these things as some of their favorite things to do, but none of them ever suggest it as a first date idea.All I am asking is that the ladies step up, and make the first dates more memorable, and maybe the men will try harder for you.

Also I am sorry if I offended you with my mispelling, all of that college shot to hell. I am sure that if dinner is the first impression women want to make on man, and its their best shot, then what do I know, I am just looking for somthing better.

why are you leaving it all up to the ladys to make the plans? Aren't you creative enough to plan something fun. Are you like this in all parts of the relationship let the lady do everything while you sit back and enjoy the ride?
It's a 2 way street in dating in case you haven't figured it out yet.

I was trying to stay out of this mess! When you meet someone and you don't know what they look like or how they will act it's important to be safe. With that being said why is it so important for the Lady to pick the spot for your first meeting? It's because you want them to be comfortable or am I off base? How about talking to your date about when and where you would like to meet? Why is the Lady the only one who has to be creative? I met my man at a gathering for DHer's. So my suggestion to you is try to plan a gathering in your area. They are always a good time and you just might meet someone that you can have a second date with.JMO
