I've read some of the responses here and believe me your not being too picky. Don't let your guard down not even for a second. There are sometimes diamonds in the rough, but if you have to polish the diamond first is it really worth it?
Another way to look at it is this.
What do they have to offer you, not what can you offer them?
Will they be afraid to lose what they have if you decide you don't want them?
Will they abuse what you offer them and try to convince you the problems you?
I for one have been down this path a couple of times and quite frankly if they don't have anything of their own to offer coming in, they will want to take all yours.
A relationship is not whats mine is mine and what's yours is mine.
Then again I am an idiot who is clueless and going back into my corner of the cornfield now.

I have two job's (My own business & a contractor job)
I own my own home
I don't take drugs (except the rare aspirin for a headache)
I’ve been a widower ever since October of 2000
My last ex-girlfriend moved out in September of 2003
I did not start dating again until October of 2007. So far I’ve dated three different women and they reminded me of a bowl of cereal… Fruits, Flakes and Nuts!!!!

You can almost never be picky enough. (Goes for the guys too) We all talk about wanting to be with the last great man/woman and they're tough to find, but not impossible. Never, never settle for less than the best for yourself. I know the single life is lonely and I think it sucks that we're all on this thread instead of out with our main squeeze. But better here with friends than out with someone who just don't fit.
I'd buy you a nice, mildly intoxicating beverage and give you a hug if I was where you are, Darlin'

I'm with you on the problem.
You know if a single mom raising three kids by herself can own a house what the hell is wrong with all these men. I mean come on guys.
I make ok money but there are times when we eat alot of pasta cause I got to get the car fixed. Yeah so we don't travel alot and get to go on glorious vacations. When I'm old I'll have a nice paid for roof over my head.
Do not lower your standards. I'm sticken with the do you own or rent question. I figure if they own they got a pot to piss in, they are resposible, capable of managing their own lives and are not just looking for a place to put there feet up or a mommy replacement.
