If anything needs to be said, attractive.
If they have nothing more to say beyond that more than likely will just ignore.
It's like responding to a wink or a wolf whistle, ok, you'd do me - so what?

Man view....Sexy is an attitude more than anything else. A positive trait.
A woman can be sexy but .....it may not have anything at all to do with wheather a man wants to go out with her. Take it as a compliment.

i think when "sexy" is said by a man to a woman it is definitely based on her physical appearance obviously w/out knowing her
do i think sexy is a bad word or compliment? no, i dont. i think women shud be flattered if a man thinks she is sexy. its better to be complimented than not
BUT if its the ONLY thing the man can say or talk about w/u is just how physically sexy u r, then it doesnt leave any room to progress any interest if he isnt giving the woman anything to go on.....just kind of leaves it shallow
sexy can also be termed as a whole of one's personality as well as her looks.....which would mean the man has gotten or getting to know her and just finds her to be a fabulous person all around
but yes, there r other descriptive adjectives to use when complimenting a woman......doesnt always have to be sexy
<<<<<-------- not feeling sexy today
NOW the real question is.....would a woman rather be called HOT or SEXY? do they mean the same thing?

Now see, Mary...how I would describe you physically is (bearing in mind that I am a flaming heterosexual woman):
beautiful
exotic
lovely
attractive
gorgeous
very feminine
How I would describe a man whose looks appeal to me:
handsome
gorgeous
strong
vibrant
very masculine
But "sexy" is something that is an unknown.
Really, dude...is that why you keep calling ME sexy?

I associate it with the guy thinking he will be sexually successful with me...that I will be responsive to his advances.
Being a guy , I don't think of it like that at all.
To me, sexy means sexually attractive and NOT that I think I would be able to "get with" the particular woman, or even try for that matter.
There are some young women for example that are in their 20's and look VERY sexy... I would not be trying to hit on them (they are too young for me) That does not however have anything to do with the fact that they are sexy.
Personally I believe it to be a compliment, although I would agree that it should be used more appropriately than some do.
(just my thoughts)

What do you prefer?
Different people have different meanings for the word sexy...........obviously you are saying to you, it means personality and looks etc (the whole package)
To me the word sexy, is the same as saying the word attractive, just a less proper way of saying attractive.......
But yes someone's voice their kindness etc could been seen as sexy qualities......but when they say it without knowing you, then obviously they are meaning it as you use the word attractive (all looks based)
I've also heard people say that someones voice, kindness etc, makes them attractive and/or more attractive..........so it's up to each individual's interpretation of the word....

I think it has to do with tact. For me I will not use the word sexy or hot when giving a woman a compliment. I find it inappropriate until you actually know. As for me I appreciate it if someone pays me the compliment of sexy or hot but I don't expect the conversation to go much further. When referencing a woman I prefer to use the words attractive or beautiful, simply my preference. I like to save the word "sexy" until you get to one of those moments where you can't wait to rip each others clothes off...or already have...
Just my thoughts...my 10 cents..

I wasn't complaining. When my SO calls me sexy, I take it as a compliment.
A lot of this has to do with people online calling others "sexy" without knowing whether or not they really are.
Appealing? Attractive?
I guess it is all in how you wish to define it.
However, I hear my students (middle school) referring to each other as "sexy" all the time.
Have we forgotten all the other descriptors?
BRAD!

I love being called anyfing positive... providing thats how it is meant!
But wen I get called something negative I can turn into a fire breathing dragon....
If I describe someone as sexy then they are attractive to me, physically.
Attraction is magnetic. I feel drawn to you if I find you "attractive". Sexy implies a more general acknowledgement of physical appeal, doesn't it?xx

If it is said sincerely, then they are all compliments!
If someone finds me "attractive" I would think they would think I was "attractive" enough to have sex with....hence "sexy". At least thats how I think when I look at a man. I think calling someone "attractive" sounds classier than "sexy".

I don't mind either. I was taken back hearing guys openly say that just in passing when I first moved here, but now I know it's just their way...and they say it to everyone practically; so really it's nothing special to hear I guess. It doesn't work as a come on line to me to get me to stop and converse though. I just smile and say "thanks" and keep on going. (and sometimes I really book it)
