Interesting information! I wasn't aware that its well known that Kung Fu is the best.

Geez, I wonder why a monk of all people think Shaolin is the best, hmm.

Do you think that every Shaolin master alive can beat me?

A Shaolin master is more advance than a master in any other style, so in response of your question, I am pretty certain that any shaolin master can beat you in a heart beat hahaha!

Oh, advanced..for real? Did the monks say that too?

Sounds like stage 2 at the YMCA...

Or a stronger formula of toothpaste...

Can you define what a shaolin does that makes him more advanced?

In order to gain a black belt in traditional shaolin kung fu one must know 700 forms at least. In Chinese Kenpo which is amongst the best kung fu styles a black belt has to know 500 techniques. Traditional Shaolin Kung Fu is the most vast of all the styles and it is complex, this is what makes traditional shaolin the best style.

That's your opinion. In my opinion practicality is the best over complexity.

In my art simplicity is seeked. My school is branched from a Koryu. In Japanese this refers to "Ancient School/Flow." Which pretty much designates any art created before Pre-Meiji Era(which is the eradication of the Samurai social class). The Koryu we branch from is called Jikishinkage Ryu. Jikishinkage can mean different depending on the Kanji.(There is also a prominent sword school that uses the name). But the one we branch from is a small Aikijujutsu school with like 20 techniques. This has been passed down in a Samurai family for generations. My school that I train in "Akayama Ryu" probably has around 40 Techniques. These techniques are simplified to where it meets the fine line of instinct and fine motor skills. This allows us to perform the technique under very stressful situations and adapt them to ourselves. Realistically a practitioner will develop "favorite" techniques, and use those mostly. Which usually ends up being around 10 techniques at the most.

Yet you hold no status amongst any art?

Or you are full of shit.

Taekwondo for about 20 years. With some hapkido, judo, and kumdo(along with other weapon training of course) intertwined with the curriculum.

Off topic Question(i'll regret asking..): Does anyone else get the feeling that there's quite a few arrogant people in the martial arts part of the forums? No offense meant to anyone.. I was taught that that being humble about your rank or skills is an important aspect.

Check with the Superintendant of Schools for your local school district. They may have some extra-curricular activities that you can become involved in while you are finishing up your English major.

You shouldn't brag in that matter. If you can get a green belt in 2 weeks, your school sucks. If you can out-kick a black belt, they suck. If you think you should talk the way you are, you suck. You're not much better than a young and dumb idiot that doesn't know how to type.
