I love it and the ACM show was awesome. Country knows how to throw a party. Steven Tyler and Carried Underwood were absolutly amazing. Wish I had taped that performance.

You are not going to believe this but I just started listen to country music about 2 months ago.
Did listen to country a little in the 60's, loved Patsy Cline.
I enjoy Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Racal Flatts, Lady Antebellum.
Boy, do I have a lot to catch up on.
I was just introduced to Vern Gosdin tonight.
Had to tape the awards so I am watcing it now.

I just started really enjoying some of the country sounds in the early 90's. In the old days (70's), I did listen to a little Tammy Wynette and Tanya Tucker and some of the girls mainly from that time frame, and of course, Patsy Cline. One of my first real "favorites" was Travis Tritt and I LOVE this song!  . Now I have many favorite singers

There was a day when I was a young thing when I didn't like country music, but then, my parents use to listen to country music all the time and I thought many of the songs sounded like a cat with its tail caught in the wringer, all that whinney singing. Ugh ....  Really started loving country music about 10 years ago but still not into that whinney singing in some of the songs. But that's just me.  My preference is the newer country artists.

Sometimes I will admit I can handle some "country music" but for the most part..
I do not want to listen to it often.
Because I find it "brings me down", it "depresses" me!
I want the up beat music, the young music but especially the 1970 music!
Those are the good days music!
The good old get up and go music!
Now come on have any of you roller skated, if you have then you should know what
kind of music I love! And that is "do the locomotion" and Hotel California by the Eagles, my 2 favorite roller skating songs.! A lot of you may say, "What the heck does roller skating have to do with country music?".; well, I tell you..
it has everything to do with it..
Have you ever heard any country music being played in a skating rink, I haven't..
so there you go..let's keep on a playing the "upbeat" good fast music and enjoy life,
you country music fans..take a back step..cause the good stuff is a coming quick..
and won't stop right now.
But if you enjoy the country, stay country I say and I do certainly salute you
country fans..There have been times in my life when I have been a "country music fan" but now in the 2000...I certainly am not a country fan currently!!

I started out with roots in country music and was heavy into Loretta Lynn/Tanya Tucker songs during my first marriage. I stray back and forth from all kinds of music for they all have something that touches me. Really enjoy the country rock but then again I like some Hip Hop/Rap to stay in touch with what the kids go through now.

I have a very wide variety of music tastes. My great-grandmother was my piano teacher, my grandmother my music teacher in school, my mother taught piano and voice and my older brother was an acid rock musician in the 70's. My Dad liked country but back then he was usually outvoted. lol I married a man in the 80's who turned me onto Judas Priest, Scorpions, AC/DC, Ozzie, and many other rock groups that I went to all their concerts. I love alternative, classical, oldies, broadway, blues, pop, gospel, and every other type music I can think of, and my sons have even turned me onto many of the newer songs and groups like Shinedown, Seether, even Tupac's Dear Mamma and Paul Wall's Daddy Wasn't Home (Momma Raised Me) sort of rap, I guess.
BUT this thread is about COUNTRY!
My first favorite Tammy Wynette and Tanya Tucker songs.

Love Country Music!! I also played it for over 30 yrs, Love the old stuff as well s the new, most people dont like the old because it was basicly about lifes situations and somtimes it hit home so they didnt like it.

I missed the awards last night.  Guess I'll have to catch the rerun of it.
Like many others here, I enjoy many genres of music. To me, music is the window to the soul. It can be self expressive about life in general, one's daily life and what happened that day, how one feels at the moment, expressing love, a good way of expressing a mood or feeling and fun to sing and dance to and nice to relax to.

i went to see eddie raven and hank jr. drove a grand marquis. went to get in my car and some yay hoo parked and it seemed i was blocked. my friends could not believe i was even going to try.
so it was up a bit back a bit and this went on for some time but i got out of the spot.
i wasn't done yet, in my red heels and short skirt i took my red lipstick and wrote him a message on his window.
i have repented since then!!
